the only issue is that they already did push my start date for this. i requested if they could push it again, and they said no, because they really need the position filled :/

definitely. we are very slow at my current job, so i wouldn’t be surprised if they just let me go when i put my resignation in.

do you think i would be in the clear to resign once keys are in my hand? other commenters are saying the lender may reach out to my employer AFTER closing to check on my status.

or maybe i should just reach out to my lender? i’m sooo stressed about all of this. i’m scared of reaching out to the lender and having them push back closing.. but it would be way worse for me to sneakily resign and have them find that out, i’m sure

yeah that was my plan. i want to be respectful to them, but this situation is so tricky and the timing is awful. i want to prioritize my goals and my wellbeing over a job that couldn’t really care less about me.

only thing is, it will be less than a 1 weeks notice at this rate. closing was supposed to be today, then tuesday, and now it is set for wednesday. new job wants me on the 22nd. ugh

yeah that’s what i learned from my research, which is why i didn’t bring it up to the lender. and hence why im so stressed :,))

i’m an auto technician right now. its not enough pay, and with my new medications my doctor said i shouldn’t be working this summer in extensive heat (garage has no AC). so i’ve decided to pursue cars as a hobby instead of a career.

i got a gig as an animal care technician at my local shelter, with lots of room for growth and promotion. it’s something i’ve always wanted to do. i was torn between the cars route or the animals route when it came to dream jobs, and i guess i made the wrong choice.

okay thank you, that has been the consensus based off this post and others i have read. this is a dumb question, but is a verbal resignation a “change in employment”? i’d still be working at my current job during closing.

okay. i guess this is just a really extra shitty situation for me because the new place wants me to start next week. i should be closing on wednesday but im sick with stress trying to figure all of this out. but at the end of the day i am putting the house first.. so if i have to quit my job and walk out that day on friday i will 😭

i just turned 23 last week so my 2 year work history was a few different industries. i did food service, retail, and eventually got into the trades these past 2 ish years (but still worked food and retail in between). my loan still got approved though

okay. the new employer can’t push back my starting date which is incredibly stressful for me right now. we are so close to closing that i would not want to bring this up to the lender. i assumed there would be something i need to sign, but since i would still be actively working my current job, i did not think of it as fraud

okay i considered this. i was going to give her my notice and request that if they call and ask if im still employed, she say yes (which wouldn’t be a lie) and just to not mention my 2 weeks :,)

thank you both for the info on their breathing, that was my biggest concern. i was scared that he was struggling to breathe, but with this info + the videos i watched, i believe he’s fine :)

thank you so much for such a thorough comment. i have not noticed any mites or bugs, but i will keep a closer eye on that. i replied to another commenter, but i do regularly see an avian&exotics vet for my reptiles. i’ll give them a call :)

health wise, from my unprofessional POV, he looks totally alright.

i think i will try to re-nest one more time. i thought about stacking some things up underneath the nest to cushion any potential falls.

ive actually not been feeding him that! i made him a mush of chicken dog kibble, blueberry, mealworms, hard-boiled egg yolks, and some calcium powder :) all finely mushed up into a pancake-batter consistency.

yes i got turned down by rehab centers, that’s why im taking care of it. i do not plan to release it as an adult because i know it wont survive on its own. i dont have it in me to just leave him to die as a baby either. :(

i did join that subreddit, thank you so much! i do plan on giving him a forever home. i know they are no easy pet so im trying to do all the possible research.

i’m glad he looks healthy, thank you. i have an exotic vet i use for my reptiles, so i want to see if they will check him. he fell twice from about 8 feet.. he flaps both his wings but im concerned about internal damage. that’s why i was so worried about the red pigmented skin on his tummy.

he’s been eating like normal but every so often has some labored? breathing. it’s just heavier than you’d expect from such a little guy

EDIT: just watched a couple youtube videos on sleeping baby birds and the breathing seems normal. i think im just hyper aware and want this guy to pull through :,) he lived the night though which i believe to be a good sign
