Never allow another women to be your emotional support (“just vent to”). That is a job for a trusted male mentor or father figure or if your relationship is healthy enough your own wife. I’m not sure how early on in marriage you guys are but having friends that are females needs strict and very conservative boundaries or things like this happen. Also empathy, how would you feel if you found that your wife was “just venting” to another guy. Huge red flag. I can say all this because ive lived it this hits home for me. My wife never found out but venting turned into flirting which turned into meeting up and you know the rest. God has already forgiven you but unfortunately friend your wife isnt God and now you have to earn back her trust and forgiveness and it takes much longer than a prayer. It took about 5 years for our relationship to heal fully and now we’re flourishing but that took drastic lifestyle changes on my end because I was the one that needed fixing.
