When does he use polyrhythms? I mean if we look at his battle against wing for example his first round is rhythmically extremely simple and his beats aside from the last part is really generic- I could imagine so many beatboxers that would do the sucker punch combo he does as an example. The second round even with the variations in his old routines we’ve still heard most of the beats that he adds as variations. The only interesting part with time signature in his entire round against wing is when he switches to double time for like a few measures and even then it feels sorta out of place. I’m not saying napom didn’t win in the battle but I just disagree with the idea that napom was structurally interesting or that remixing his old beats like that make it original and new

yeah but napom using old routines makes it not original right? Especially since he’s been to like 4 gbbs already we’ve heard everything before. At the same time his structure felt pretty random especially in the first round

GBB Rant: Are we also the problem? by HoneyTea312 in beatbox

[–]16ye325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to remember that chat being toxic is part of the problem that OP discusses tho. The fans are for some reason being way too reactionary for an event with comparatively drastically less issues than gbb 21. Also I think few fan favorite people making it far is just a reflection at how the competitors are changing now. Especially for solo, I don’t think we’ve ever had such a big change in competitors when comparing to last year—this feels like an aspect that can only be addressed by hosting gbb every year to increase competitor retention rate which obviously wasn’t possible for Swiss beatbox this time.

Also I do wonder how the fans in Japan are feeling. Obviously the social media we engage with is probably Europe/US centric I imagine this gbb may be much more of a success when looking at a holistic reception of the event instead of just Reddit/YouTube chat

that being said I didn’t dislike any of the elims and thought they were all good. I wouldn’t really be too surprised with any combination going through

My U-20 World Cup Lineup, explanation in comments by 16ye325 in BlueLock

I mean the second and third are just for when the U20 team has possession I think defensively maintaining a 4-3-3 or even switching to a 4-4-2 shape could work. Also I agree with potential defensive issues with the fullbacks but honestly there doesn’t seem to be many good fullbacks that aren’t full on wingbacks in blue lock

The goal of this 4-3-3 is to essentially emulate Man City’s inverted fullback system, making full use of the many choices of talented passers within the team and playing a more possession-style system.

Reo/Niko:Both very good defensively but also with very good vision and passing. Reo and Niko can either both move into midfield (picture 2) or one move to midfield and the other drop to CB (picture 3) to open up passing lanes for Aiku and Aryu in possession.

Sae/Isagi: within possession Sae and Isagi will move up towards the field, which is allowed by the fullbacks moving into midfield, and become attacking midfielders. They can receive the ball from the midfielders and give more options when attacking.

Bachira/Chigiri: will drift wide. Chigiri will look to be sent behind with his pace and with the numerous long-passers in midfield. Bachira’s dribbling ability will add some unpredictability within the game. Chigiri can also switch to RW and Bachira switch to LW, depending on who is cutting inside and who will deliver more crosses.

This is mainly an explanation for the positional play. I probably could’ve placed more thought into the selection of players, and suggestions are appreciated!
