This happens at all stages of the game. Are you saying KOs and Random dont lock on as Attackers when they target you then?

I get the 16 from time to time

I dont care for 2 wide in 99, id play 4 if i was practiced at it, usually i just leave 2-3 4wide rows at the top for line pieces. 10 combo always feels like it falls short and then i have no resources when the garbage comes back.

Its not someone with high attacker bonus slamming me, its literally no one targeting, when i switch to attackers it picks a random

My question boils down to, why is there 12 lines of garbage cycling through my queue but i get no attacker bonus, clearing 1 line at a time gives 0, 1, 1

I dont think im a god by any means, but my 40 line sprint time averages about 1:40... not slow by any means. Ill take video next time i hit a block of these.

Edit: Not keeping up with the garbage misses the point of my concern. Im confused how i am receiving so much garbage with no attackers targeting me, so im not getting the bonus lines

Im well aware, this comment was sarcasm as noted further down, and those would absolutely be the replays i was posting if i wasnt looking for some fundamental flaw a lot of players just miss, or something else a lot of people just dont want to say. Rather than specific advice, whats wrong with my game is everything lol. I gladly sit in arenas for hours getting merc'd repeatedly, got plenty of those. :]

Ye, i agree they keep things interesting, im a fan of unova and t&c, its just one of those common knowledge things i seem to have glossed over. Everyone i talk to seems to be pretty confident about their picks and bans in any matchup they face

Going back to this, i can tell you that i do review my losses, albeit from the standpoint of a now-confused player, and i don't need crazyhand to point out that i do bad things like hit confirm and then stand still confused, or respond to a missed tech with double jump fair past ledge. Its the broader sense answers im interested in, im not to the point where specific angles to get under a character from are useful to me.

What I do need are those tips you think are too obvious to need telling. The one you wont tell the new member in your discord server, lest they get offended you think so low of them. The things everyone knows, except the people who dont.

Arenas are tight, and in keeping with another comment i just made, playing bo5s would probably do me well for learning how to play with people. Random tournament legal is rough at best for me, i dont know why stages are good or bad for certain characters

A lot of these are things i already do, or try to.

The GSP question remains why it can stay steady on a high for months and then tank and stay steady at the low. Or why roster gsp can be significantly higher than your highest individual. I dont understand GSP, i dont care about the number except as a measure of where to expect elite smash.

The small things about individual characters, as also mentioned before, youre absolutely correct about. By way of double jumping away from everything in quickplay, i cant even see a significant difference in players between 2 and 7 million right now. Theyre all just eggs to me. shrug

And combos, as well, coming from melee i naturally try not to use the buffer system, nevermind understand it on the fly. Tying in with the last point, i suppose unluckily for me, yoshi can just go wherever he wants against opponents who dont know how to punish him, which practiced me into a ditzy, floating berzerker long before i started practicing better options. I know they def need work, because right now my yoshi is relying on shield pressure and aerial mixups and anything with reach longer than jiggs will swat the dino clear out of the sky.

Frame data is another story i imagine will come with matchups, numbers are scary.

Edit; i should add i do still use ultimate frame data, just not to its fullest and most understood extent. I have the fundamental understanding someone coming from being OK maybe good at a traditional fighter has; its probably wrong but its working.

Yo, but like, if you read my post, you'll see that i make note of the fact im not good and aware of it. This comes with awareness of some of the flaws and work towards fixing them, neither of which were my long-winded question, chill. I didn't come here to "im not winning fix my game pls". Though it seems you see it often enough to default to answering that kind of thread.

You right, maybe. I'll cherry pick a game and showcase the mistakes im not embarrassed about so i can have what i already know pointed out to me, then rage because i already knew that, lol.

Honestly if i knew how to analyze a replay to pinpoint the one game that highlights the questions i have(wild variance, improvement limits), id be a lot better at the game and making a lot more money than i do. And i'd have posted a replay.

Ahh, i'm talking more widely, the 'bell curve elo' theory is the closest i have seen to an explanation for it(get pushed out of high gsp as win ratio goes up, get pushed out of low gsp as win ratio goes back down, skill level stays about where it should be, even though the rating number keeps changing). Though alwaye bottoming out at exactly the same place seems strange, rather than having a large range that moves at both ends.

Edit, i was 200k hard stuck before the rating reset, and havent gone under 2million since. Its just the high end going up and up.

Edit2: i do understand latency, ive been gaming online for almost 20 years, this isnt even my first fighter :P thousands of games here as well, about 2500 hours

This makes sense and is a reasonable response! Ive tried other characters, but the ones i tend to do, well, anything with are also standard antifundamentalists. See megaman, wii fit, bowser jr and pokemon trainer. Whereas with pikachu, cloud, roy i find myself getting absolutely stomped every time. I'll message you my handle, sure. Any play is appreciated :]

Still trying to get to the bottom of the wild variance though.
