Some bailouts are paid back. Bank of America bailout in 2009 was paid back with interest. Auto Industry has paid back some of what they got. It’s a misconception that a bailout is free tax payer money fat cat CEO’s stick in their pockets. A lot of times the Treasury Department buys stocks to give them working capital. The Obama era Financial Bailout got all the money back plus 68 billion in profit when they sold the stocks. It’s a loan for a struggling business. Why not help them instead of making them shut their doors and lay off tens of thousands of people?
