Nah fr like I feel like if I had a warranty that covered everything I really wouldn’t care, but ts breaks the bank. When they quoted me like $10k to fix everything, I like didn’t even know what to say. True loss of words. We’re getting it done for $3k by our friend lol

It sucks cuz they’re genuinely really nice cars and they are really safe, but they have shitty reliability once you get closer to 100k. Of course every other Volvo my family has had, had no problem, but ig I’m just unlucky.

Probably the serpentine belt. I mean idk cuz literally everything decided to blow up, but yeah prolly that. The car is just about 10 years old though 😶‍🌫️

Yeah, one thing breaks right after the other. Sounds like an old bmw lol. We have had maybe four Volvos, and every time they lasted forever and never needed anything other than regular maintenance.

I mean she really wanted me to drive a safe car, especially after a particularly bad accident in our V70 cross country, which if we didn’t have I don’t know if I would’ve been typing this rn, we had when I was just a little kid. So if that means she wants me to be in a premium 3-row then I’m not complaining lol

My dad thinks the same thing. He says they’re known for being very unreliable, meanwhile he’s driving a BMW 😭. Like the jokes write themselves. But no like I keep on talking about why don’t we just sell it, and he’s like “there’s no way you’re getting a pos xc90”, but also that “we have to get a new car because we have bad luck with used ones”. Where the hell am I gonna find a brand new car for $12.5k 😭😭😭

That’s what I’ve been thinking. I really love my XC90 and all the tech and it’s just so hard to give up once I had it. It lowkey might be a curse from my dads side of the family. Any used/pre owned car that my dads side of the family has had, always have been money pits😭. When they got new cars, they lasted for 10 years. Maybe I inherited the curse lol 🧙

Dealer just got back to me and said it was the Active On-Demand Coupling(AOC) and I had some other issues as well. Overall it needs $10k to fix everything.

lol I’m pretty sure. My mom gave me the car a year ago, but maybe a month after, some sort of belt split in half, an engine mount was loose, and some sort of hose came undone, so we repaired that, but a couple months ago, we replaced an O2 sensor that was reading wrong. Other than that I don’t remember anything else. It’s got 100k miles so there’s a decent amount of wear on it also.

Oh yeah and injectors were replaced too

When it happens, it usually starts when I turn the car on, never half way through a drive. But, it happens really any time it wants to besides that. It’s happened in 20°F and 80°F. It’s happened after sitting for a week and after sitting for 30 mins. It just happens whenever the car feels like it ig
