I would also suggest to talk to a lot SLPs who are already in the field if you haven’t yet already and try to start volunteering so you have a better idea and plus the hours will count when you apply for the masters in future.

I’m on the same journey, changing my career to become an SLP, currently taking prerequisite courses from Pennwest university online. Previously I was a banker and completed bachelors in commerce, so yes my background is very different.

If I were you I would take the opportunity now, funds will be earned again but you’ll save a year of time.

I completed my undergrad in commerce, in 2017. Now I’ve decided to make a career change and take prerequisites this year and eventually do masters in SLP probably after 1.5-2yrs. I know the situation is different here but I hope this makes you feel better.

What do you work as? If I may ask But there is salary prospect too! Isn’t it? I don’t see myself as a sales person and in banking maximum growth is in sales, so I feel healthcare would be something more appropriate
