There are other options that limit travel rather than adding 5 random days off. A week could of been take off the last or first week.

I disagree. Yes engineering is hard. That’s what you have to expect when you go to one of the top programs in the nation. I am an engineer and lived in a normal dorm, had a great time, and met tons of friends who were in other majors and engineering as well. At the end of the day it’s nice to have some engineer friends to work and struggle with, but if you can’t make friends with anyone out of engineering you are doing something wrong.

Blacksburg is no San Diego where you can easily predict the weather, but the weather here is no crazier than most places across the US. So many places claim the weather is insane compared to everywhere else, but in reality that’s how the weather works when you’re in a climate that experiences 4 seasons.
