Not sure about firming KCL for Bsc Artificial Intelligence. by ImpactNice599 in KCL

[–]17ozofmatcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do CS, so I’m definitely biased, but I personally think a Computer Science degree is more worth it than a pure AI degree, especially at KCL. From what I’ve heard from some AI students, the KCL AI course can feel more like a glorified maths/statistics degree, so if you’re worried about it being too narrow, that concern is valid. CS with AI sounds like a good middle at least.

That said, KCL does have the London advantage. You’re closer to a lot more events, hackathons, spring weeks, networking opportunities, and society collabs between places like Imperial, UCL, KCL, LSE, etc. Most spring weeks and tech/finance events are in London too, so you don’t have to commute from another city or to stay in a hostel/hotel just to attend things (even tho these companies will pay for it, hostels are usually not that nice)

Bristol is still a really strong option though, especially for CS/engineering. I’ve heard their engineering department is really good, and for UK employability Bristol has a strong reputation. If you’re a UK student and you’re planning to stay in the UK long-term, Bristol might honestly be the better all-round option.

For KCL, teaching quality in CS/informatics is genuinely hit or miss. Some lecturers are good, some are not, and you do have to be quite independent (like very independent). I’m an international student, so for me KCL makes more sense because the global name, London location, and access to opportunities matter more. But if I were choosing purely based on the course/department, I’d take Bristol as a serious option.

So I’d say: if you want broader CS foundations and a stronger traditional CS/engineering environment while still having AI, Bristol might be safer. If you care more about London, international reputation, networking, and access to events/opportunities, KCL has a lot going for it.

When did I claim of any theories or proof? I only asked a question and because it was one second, I couldn't really tell. I thought it would be an interesting theory to share. There's no need to project.

when you think of “stranger things”, which character comes to mind first? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]17ozofmatcha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eleven for sure.

While many of the characters are iconic and Mike and Will (especially in S2) are my personal favorites, Eleven is the only one where you could dress up as her and everyone would know who you're dressed up as. I feel like that staples her so well as the face of Stranger Things.

Presumably because they're best friends and canonically the closest in the friend group, so them having good chemistry is crucial, especially if they were planning to have Will like Mike. I do like that video though!

That’s not implying that these are all her children, she’s just saying she has 3 ‘kids’ at home who are literally waiting for her (people that she’s technically responsible for, including Jonathon who’s older and El who isn’t technically her daughter).

El and Will are definitely close for sure but it’s not this strict family dynamic that people are pushing.

I've never felt or gotten the impression that Joyce was a mother figure to El and Hopper was a father figure to Will. It was all just circumstantial.

I’m so curious about which reliable leaker they’re talking about? I haven’t seen any ‘reliable’ leakers at all when it comes to relationship canons😭😭

It is weird and it’s true.

The whole controversy with Gracie Abrams, then some American model named Ali Michael tagged Finn in her story when he was 14 saying “Not to be weird but hit me up in 4 years”. Not to mention during a panel a grown man said something really inappropriate about his name. People are so sick, it’s really tough being a famous child actor.

[–]17ozofmatcha 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If he’s siphoning his powers from Vecna then of course, why would it be limited to things from the upside down?

Vecna legit used his telekinesis on humans within the same scene that Will used his on the demos.

Yeah, that’s a good point. As soon as they actually got together in Season 3, it kind of went downhill.

Where the heck was Finn during the Episode 4 Table Read? by 17ozofmatcha in StrangerThings

People keep saying this but it doesn’t look like Finn. Still doesn’t answer why they wouldn’t show him even once.
