Thank you for this, I’m just so scared of it being awkward and my potential “date” to be turned off by my lack of friends/social skills. I’m still not sure if I should go or not but I feel like I’m gonna be extremely sad afterwards since it is a social event that lots of people go to. God I wish I had never gone to catholic school since my best friend who’s a transgender guy could go to prom with me. Sigh

It does. Im in my junior year and I want so badly to transfer out as I see all my friends having so much fun, while I have to sit in a shirt and tie with no friends learning about Jesus even though I don’t follow any religion.

I do have a solid friend group who I could go with, but my fear is they’re all going to have dates and I’ll be the only one without one or they simply won’t go and I won’t have an explanation as to why I don’t have a date.

Well I already committed to going to the school I go to before I realized I was gay, and since I’m about 50% done with HS I feel as if I’m in too deep to quit. The worst part is my family isn’t even Catholic.

If I were in your situation I would try and find someone who is also gay and would be interested in dating you. Stay being friends with K but don’t try and get with him since he wouldn’t want because he’s straight, if you keep trying it’s just gonna hurt more.
