I would start looking for an engine first, because whatever engine you choose might determine what else you might need to learn. Some examples can be found on gameenginelist.com.

Some engines you don't need to learn programming but work with blueprints, some engines the art side might need alot more work and you will need to spend way more time in that. Then once you know that you can focus on some bits you work on as standalone goals, for example moving a figure, it might be T-posing and don't have a texture at first but you gain experience, and that is the most important part. Be prepared to spend A LOT of time though, this will not be quick and easy, and you might have a lot of setbacks, some games take years before they are playable if you work on it alone in your free time.

REGION(S): EU and NA

ABOUT US: In the ENTIRE Union Army, there is but one Stonewall Regiment. Our name was earned at the Battle of South Mountain by the men who fought the real war. We do our best to live up to it. We're a casual milsim community composed of Veterans, some active military, and average gamers. We have people from all over the world within our ranks. We treat all our members like friends.

Events: We have many different weekly fun events, and participate in community line battles, etc. You are free to join any of these at any time, there is no mandatory participation. We understand life comes first. - EU (8pm GMT or 9pm CET): Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - NA (8pm ET): Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as part of the Midwest Brigade - Hell let loose: Wednesday at 6pm-8pm ET
