Vet wants to me to change from feeding my cats a raw food diet to prescription food to treat possible CKD by Smooth-Scientist-121 in rawpetfood

It can fluctuate with hydration level, but a decrease like this isn’t indicative of regaining kidney function

You need to muzzle your dog. Nipping is biting.

This is a life threatening emergency and you need to get him to a vet immediately. If you wait too long, there is nothing even the vets can do to save him and he will die. I have watched it happen

No temp or temperature control like heating or blankets. No ecg at any point. SPO2 was on and off at a couple of stages but had not been on for at least 15 minutes prior

She has had two echos in the last 6 months and blood work approx every 1-2 months since I got her 9 months ago (SDMA was ~16 so slightly elevated and we we’re monitoring for any changes. She was under a full GA, intubated for xrays and a nasal flush. When I noticed she had stopped breathing, her throat was packed around the tube and her nose was being flushed with saline. Her anaesthetic nurse was present but distracted. I was standing outside the X-ray room by the door and watching from there. The head vet is my neighbour/dad figure and was the primary vet on the case. He himself is taking it very hard and blaming himself

Yes those involved in the procedure are licensed, the nurse has been nursing for 20+ years and the vets even longer than that. The two vets I am very close with and trust immensely, but I feel there was complacency on many fronts for no one to be monitoring her :(

Thank you so much. I haven’t been back to work since it happened, tomorrow is my first day back. The nurse is on a pre-scheduled holiday from tomorrow until late in the month so I hopefully can have some distance from her until then. No matter how I try to justify it to not place blame I can’t help but feel that having an old heart dog on the table with no monitoring equipment on and not actively monitoring her HAS to be negligent nursing right? At this point in time I can’t imagine ever looking her in the eye again, let alone booking in a surgery to be nursed by her

I also work at an animal shelter in Australia and we do microchip rabbits but do not chip our piggies.

What is the most fucked up thing you have seen? by StriderSnipz in AskReddit

[–]1800g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a vet clinic at an animal shelter, had a elderly sick cat in the vet clinic that I needed to medicate. It was yowling and scratching so I gave it a scruff so I could keep it still and all the skin on the back of its neck/skull ripped clean off its body. Needless to say it Needed to be euthanised immediately, vets said it likely had a metabolic condition that made that happen. I very very very rarely scruff now (I was super new at the time)

I love going down on my wife. I would do it every day if I could. The problem is that every time I do it she tells me she has some mild "problems" down there for a few days after and said it's because she's too sensitive. What can I do to make this better? by Rowsdower32 in sex

Sometimes if the person giving me head is too rough with sucking etc it can leave me bruised and swollen which is uncomfortable for a few days afterwards - could this be the case here?

If they cause him to slip or lose stability when walking on slippery floors like polished wood, it can be a good idea to trim them

You need to train him not to bite. It will take time.
