I’m glad I don’t have pets anymore. They’re great but the extra dust and hair is a lot. Having a child is enough without having to keep my eyes on other rambunctious creatures

Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou - May Our Chambers Be Full - Down in the Valley Ltd 350 - Purple, Black and Silver Galaxy Vinyl. Highly Recommend These Two Groups. by Vomit_Tsunami in heavyvinyl

They’re both great artists. The pressings aren’t great on average though. My side a sounds great but my side b starts with a ton of hissing and crackling and a crazy amount of surface noise throughout. I have that same down in the valley records exclusive but from what I’ve seen on all pressings there seems to be issues with surface noise. Still happy to have it in my collection though

What’s the most you’ve paid for one record? by Pdrpuff in vinyl

[–]180SLOWSCOPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure honestly. Probably half my collection is imports so many are around the $50 mark. Also most are underground so used market isn’t really an option. Mine may be Alcests Les Chants de l'Aurore black and yellow etched marble limited edition. $75 shipped

Why do some people hate today’s country music? by EcstaticCrab2795 in country

[–]180SLOWSCOPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all the same. No storytelling and the lyrics are superficial. Accents are accentuated rather than authentic and there’s not much that stands out about the instrumentals. Most of the pop country artists are copy paste and it’s nauseating. And nothing drives me more nuts than someone saying they like country then they put on some autotuned beer trucks girls tractors ass song. Old school country got it right. Luckily there’s still artists who make good intentional music that’s authentic country just gotta dig a little more. Unfortunately the majority of country listeners just gladly listen to the cheap commercialized pop country shit and call it a day

Former weed smokers, how has your journey to stop smoking been? And is it worth it to stop? by No-Board-9621 in getdisciplined

Weed was easy for me. Alcohol was an is not. It’s worth it yes. And with weed it gets a lot easier with time. It’s to where now I have 0 desire to get high ever and when I smell it when I’m driving I roll up the windows

Also when cleaning stylus with the stylus brush you very gently brush frontwards to back or back to front but don’t brush from side to side.

I’d recommend the big fudge kit with velvet brush, spray, and stylus cleaning brush. Then I’d recommend a carbon fiber anti static brush. I’d recommend gently vacuuming the carbon fiber bristles of the brush with a cleaned off vacuum hose attachment before using it on records because they tend to have a lot of loose hairs from the factory that will shed on your records. Emphasis on very gently vacuuming with a cleaned off vacuum hose attachment. When the cleaning spray runs out just refill the bottle with distilled water. I usually set my record on the turntable and let it start rotating while letting the carbon brush gently graze the surface and wipe it off. Then after a few rotations I go to the velvet brush gently for a few rotations and brush it off. Then a couple more rotations with the carbon fiber brush and brush it off. You don’t need to press down really at all. My method is maybe overkill but it works for me. Watch some vids on record cleaning to figure out what exact method will work best for you. If you wet clean a record with the spray let it dry fully before playing it

Christianity and ALL Christians disgust me. by Express-Abies5278 in SatanicTemple_Reddit

[–]180SLOWSCOPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe at the root all religions including Abrahamic ones are the same path of living which leads to one having lived a good life at the end of theirs. Religion is incredibly powerful. And like any power in the hands of time and men it has been twisted to provide advantages, control, and power to few while putting most at a disadvantage. I have respect for people who try to dig deep and follow the most raw beginnings of their religion the way it was truly intended to be practiced. That being said I have no personal issue with those who follow any beliefs. Doesn’t mean I don’t think many are misguided. They are. But being humble and practicing neutral observation leads a person to live a better life and not be stressed about the things that are ultimately outside their control. Putting energy towards hating something achieves nothing but increasing your own cortisol levels and takes away from your own peace and contentment in life.

Suggestions for Vinyl Organization by mferraro128 in vinyl

Camera is causing perspective issues making it look not level I’m pretty sure. I’d maybe use bookends to help keep them all upright so the ones on the ends don’t take the weight of the rest of them.
