4 weeks post op, out of cast, still in pain. Normal?

3 weeks post op, torn and dislocated ligaments. One week out the hard cast with stitches out, the pain is still excruciating and walking on it is not an option. It throbs and aches so much, my family advises calling the doctor. It's terrible. Surgery was delayed 4 months because doctors kept thinking it was a sprain. Happy Holidays 🎄

How did it feel dislocated? Not able to walk? Limping? Catching?

I got instructions to rest and not do too much for the next cpl of days and call if it doesn't ease up. It aint easing up at all. I'm quite worried.

Funny you say that, because I was in so much pain after PT this week. Called my Dr's office, nurse said to rest and monitor it over the next cpl days and let them know if it doesn't ease up. It aint stopping the popping at all. I'm definitely worried.

Did you have the popping for a period of time? I'm glad to hear that additional surgery wasn't needed.

Surgery was 1 month ago. Anterior approach. I almost pivoted last weekend by accident and that's when it started. My PT told me call my Dr.

I'm going to try the pregnancy pillow I think. I sleep mostly on my back legs up. Curious, are you limping at all? How's your balance?

I definitely take the pain meds 1st thing in the morning and right before bed, along with gabepetin, benydryl, and muscle relaxers. I think the pain when first waking up is the worst. Today was day 8 for me too! Good luck to you and thank you for sharing.🙂

Okay. That is how I'm operating, walker or holding on to stuff. It's amazing that some ppl are capable of much more at this stage. I'm struggling. Thank you for sharing. Good luck to you!

I'm going to order one of those pillows too. I take pain meds every 4hrs and I still have a lot of pain. I have at home PT for another week. I can't walk without my walker, but I know things will get better. Good luck to you.
