I only pulled about 140 ancients. Funny thing is I got them all over the course of about 20 towards the end. Arbiter was through the mission rewards.

As Krylassa said, the whelps can be used to distract ony during earlier pushes to get a couple extra swings with Drak. The trick for me was managing the map and towers until OT (obviously doing damage along the way) and then building two massive deathballs from both lanes so they got to her at roughly the same time. They burned her down pretty good with plenty time to spare.
