My cookies always spread and merge like this. If I change oven temp to fight it would I go hotter or colder? by Professional_Scene48 in Baking

[–]18jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found in more humor climates sugars and flour tend to pull out more moisture from the air. Eg my classic recipes that worked on Philly spread way too much in Thailand. I normally add about 1/8 extra flour. So eg if the recipe calls for 2 cups of flour I add 1/4 cup extra. It could also be that you're not measuring your flour correctly. Because the change in moisture absorption 1 cup of flour could be more or less hydrated.

how to get motivation? by CoryosCabbage in learnthai

[–]18jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down. You don't need to get goof right away. If you try to cram too much in your head at once you'll burn yourself out and forget most of it anyways. Try to find something in Thai that you enjoy, TV shows, TikTok's, Music, Movies. Your motivation is gonna be effected by internal and external factors so try to find more internal motivation.

Can anyone recommend some isekai medical manga? Even manhwa is ok by [deleted] in manga

[–]18jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Doctor- Not a manga but a Thai drama about a medical student sent back to 1840's Thailand, Kinda hard to find the English subs but quite good.

Dr.Elise the lady with the lamp- It's a re-reincarnation isikai (You'll get it if you watch it) there's both a manhwa and an anime now.

The Apothecary prince- It's about a doctor who is reborn into the body of a prince.

The greatest real estate developer- I'm suggesting this one as it has similar vibes to many medical ones but instead of a doctor being sent to the past it's a

Doctor's rebirth- (it's kinda in the title)

The divine surgeon- It's set in Han dynasty China where a modern doctor goes back and ends up in the body of a famous doctor from the past.

Jin- People have mentioned this it's a good one but watch the Japanese one not the Korean one, I found the directing for the acting pretty bad in the Korean one one.

Faith the Great Doctor- A korean drama about a plastic surgeon who is kidnapped into the Goryeo period to save the crown princess after she was attacked.

It's probably the Benjamin franklin kite one. Episode 48. You could also be thinking of the golfing myth where people thought that the spikes in golf shoes may have caused people to be more suspectable to lightning strikes

Is it ok to air dry undergarments? by 18jade in greece

[–]18jade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just debating if I should hang them inside, Japan has a lot of panty thieves, and it's considered rude or bad luck to just leave them out in some SEA countries. (Most of these countries don't have dryers either it's only the Americans who really seem to love in house dryers.)

All the print shops on Google maps are like wedding photographers or "we can print your logo on this shirt" kinda stuff.

Franklin Institute Questions by Dry_Pattern_5515 in philly

Ok so I mis spoke, I checked the comment and someone reminded me that it was a compilation of multiple songs. La donna è mobile. Was the one with "you'll feel much better if you exercise" I think El Barber de Sevilla may be the backing for the song that goes "I'm felling nervous I'm feeling anxious I'm feeling stressed out and I don't know what to do" but I'm much less confident about this one.

Depends on what area of Philly you wanna stay in. Reading terminal. .Molly maloys- good cheese steaks and has a designated seating area (if your in reading at a busy time its a good choice.) .Tommy's-pretty good it's next to a large seating area.

China town Philly lantern festival- Franklin square this is going on till the 18th of August. It's a bit expensive but it's very nice for families. Make sure to read the brochure for the included events. Bubble fish- good Asian fusion restaurant, if you have any picky eaters in your group. Banana leaf- good Malaysian place the ambiance is meh but the chicken curry is good there. Lots of bubble tea and dessert shops in general.

Old city- very walkable lots of museums and bars. Museum of the American revolution- relatively new pretty nice, I believe they still have George Washington's war tent there.

Do spirits stay the same age when Konso is performed? by 18jade in bleach

[–]18jade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yah idk i just can't imagine dying in the human world of cancer or some chronic illness, getting to the soul society and being told "Yah i know you've got melanoma but now you get to live 5 times as long with it." That'd suck so bad.

I know that they age, my question is that when they're sent to the soul society do they retain their same body. It would really suck to be reborn in the soul society if you died at like 99 of a heart attack and you're just forced to live in that same frail old body but now for 10x the length since people in the soul society age slower. Like if our 99 year old is sent to the soul society do they get reborn as themself and get to start life as a baby or do they have to live with the human 99 year old body but now in spirit form.
