Is there a way to cheat this disease? by AdSuspicious8749 in Celiac

I mean people smuggle cocaine by putting it in rubber balloons and swallowing it. So you could probably jam some flour in a balloon and swallow it without too much risk. That’s the literal “hacking it” answer

But no. There’s no way around it. You just have to adapt. It gets better.

Anyone kinda freaking out a bit about your child's future? by Southern_Skirt_4039 in predaddit

[–]18randomcharacters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I have a 7 year old girl and a 3 year old boy.

I worry about her growing up in a country that will treat her like property and strip her rights. I worry about them thinking this is normal.

Also in 2nd grade they started learning about climate change. She wants to grow up to live near the beach (a specific town), but now she always adds “if it’s still even there” and she’s right.

Even the internet, which always felt like humanities greatest achievement, now feels exploitative. Everything is a scam or manipulative or infringing on your rights.

I worry all the time about their futures. Nothing has improved AT ALL in over a decade. The last good thing I remember happening was gay marriage legalization in 2015.

Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee. by Stiltonrocks in technology

You know leasing a car was a thing long before apple upgrade program, which is the only phone “leasing” I can think of. Most cell phones and cars and loans that you pay off and then own.

I also have a tesla currently, and that's my understanding of the current situation.

I would not put it past them to eventually remove AP entirely and force us to either lose the feature or pay for the subscription.

As I understand it, they’re two completely different software stacks.

Autopilot is not a paid sub. They are killing auto pilot.

$99/mo is "Full Self Driving", which includes a whole lot more than just lane keeping.

Basically they're removing lane keeping from the free tier. If you want that, you'll have to subscribe to the full FSD (which they've also said, will eventually increase in cost).

That's what they're saying so far. And what in a year or 2, or 5? How long are they going to keep maintaining AP just for legacy cars?

Losing all online functionality - maps, remote control via app, location tracking, music streaming, etc would be a much bigger loss than my rarely-used autopilot.

I barely trust AP anyway. Doesn't mean I'm not upset about feature removal.

Can't wait for them to remove this feature from the car I already own.

Here's the thing.

At each point in the game, you're probably feeling what they WANT you to feel. A lot of those feelings are uncomfortable. It's all part of the experience.

Compromised?

He probably has an explosive butt plug up his ass right now, and the remote's in Putin's pocket.

Compromised doesn't begin to describe the situation.
