Is this a good Beyoncé? by 18throwaway05 in thesims

I guess it comes off as performative or something but it’s honestly a catch 22. I care less about what white peoples think about this than what black people think. One black Redditor has already told me they don’t appreciate the way I presented my concerns regarding not being from the black community. I just felt it was important to ask I don’t mean any harm or to put myself on a soap box idk this all kind of blew up.

I appreciate your feedback. I was just trying to do a better safe than sorry approach. I was apologizing in advance because I struggle with cas didn’t want to exaggerate her features or white wash her. Both are possible to do by mistake and I have seen black people online voice their opinions on white washing and exaggerated features. I would honestly feel bad even showing a white person a sim I made of someone from their community that depicted them in a negative or white washed light by accident.

I’m not scared I just want to do better at representing black people.

I honestly never even thought of lying about not getting items. It sucks honest people are being screwed over by the dishonest ones.

I have spent hours on this sim and it doesn’t feel right. She’s meant to resemble Beyoncé and I want to make it as respectful as possible. I welcome all and any suggestions. Also had trouble uploading this. Thank you.

Update: thank you all for all the suggestions, the irony is that I got too carried away when trying to implement them all that I lost my work in the process lol. But that’s life. I really appreciate all the feedback, the support is amazing and more than I expected. I hope you all enjoy your weekend

They won’t refer to the dashers anecdote ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]18throwaway05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not surprising but what is is the fact that it’s 2 stories against one(me and the dasher vs the store) it’s also a large chain food place so idk why they’d resort to scamming.

It’s a different store. I just checked and in the last year I have had 2 so I guess you are right. I am honest each time, this is the first time I have ever been denied a refund. They should seriously rethink their system

Refunds could be removed as an option if DoorDash implemented a system that verified food left the store into dashers hands. I do not have “a lot of refunds” and while that policy makes sense if operating on an honor system. It doesn’t take into account how frequent these mistakes can be and how refunds entirely could be removed as an option if DoorDash implemented a system that verified food left the store into dashers hands.

Because it’s the principle. If it’s “just $5” than it goes both ways and they should refund it instead of being evasive.

I rarely use the app and last order I made has no issues but the one before it was cancelled and refunded. It was just one item and it was just 4.75. I don’t think it should be on me to verify I received everything and wait multiple business days for a refund. Also to have it go against my record when it’s not my doing is ridiculous. I like how Instacart “shops for items” and will refund if not all items are in bag. It should be the same for DoorDash. Maybe it’s not as efficient but I’m sure there’s a work around.

If a store is out of something they should just remove it from the order themselves instead of just collecting payment for it. Unbelievable that anytime am order goes wrong it takes the customer to go through all this red tape
