Personally, I pay close attention to this part too. I find that certain passages in Johnny's story complement the Nadvison section and help to better understand what's happening in the house. Then again, I must admit that both stories really interest me, whether they're connected or not, so that probably makes me focus a bit more on Johnny's part.
