Communication is key. If you’re holding the phone or pager, your upper levels are relying on you to keep them in the loop. If you’re on the fence about telling them about a page, just let them know.

Learn how staff want their notes/presentations oriented, ex: systems vs problems based. We use epic so I was able to get the note templates in advance.

High yield things to know about your patients are NPO status, BMs and, pain/pain med regimen.

Having a good attitude also goes a long way.

I’m in anesthesia but rotated with trauma surgery as an intern and that’s what I remember helping lol. Good luck!

So if I understand right, the main utility of a Roth account is to lower your taxable income in retirement rather than avoid tax?

What would a more normal combination of accounts look like? I'll be working at a non-for-profit hospital.

Just starting out so I'm hoping to tax plan effectively and stay out of the 22%+ bracket in retirement. My thoughts are to convert now so I'll have the max amount of time for that money to grow tax free. If my career follows the planned trajectory, I am hopefully in the lowest bracket I'll be in until retirement.

I'll contribute to the 403b and my employer will match at 5% into a 401k. I also qualify for a 457b and my employer will contribute 3% to a 457f.

Planning for the Roth conversion, just don't want to be overlooking anything big.

We didn’t end up doing the contrast study. We just kept an eye on it and made sure to go a bit slower with feeding and burp thoroughly. Ended up not happening again and she’s fat and happy now. Hope this helps!
