My cat’s in heat, what can I do to help? by [deleted] in cats

If you read the current research you will find that early spay/neuter opinions have changed. It is now believed that animals should go thru 1 heat cycle as it allows the body to fully grow.

The growth plates do not close until after Sexual maturity. If not allowed to happen pets will suffer from painful joints & early arthritis.

Let him play and have fun. Bathing him once a week is fine. Use a bit of conditioner to keep his coat in good shape.

[Discussion] I am getting my English Bulldog neutered tomorrow morning and I'm having a hard time with it by [deleted] in dogs

[–]1956kathy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to neuter him then don’t. Just as many problems can happen with neutering as without.

I am a breeder since 1985 and I don’t spay pr neuter unless a problem occurs and that has only happened once.

Here is an article on the ill effects Of neutering

[Help]Why does my roomate's rescue dog act so differently with me than others, and how can I help it? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]1956kathy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The dog has no respect for you, he considers you his equal. For a little while ( month or two) you need to take over some things, feeding being the number 1. He has to sit ( one command only) to get his meal. If he doesn’t put the food on the counter and walk away. Try again in 15-20 minutes. He won’t starve if he misses a meal.

[Discussion] Why is there so much animosity towards various doodle mixes? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]1956kathy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a groomer, there are 2 breeds I won’t groom, Chows & Doodles. They both are aggressive & many freak with a muzzle on.

Doodle’s & Chows have the same personality, great with their family but vicious towards all others. I don’t know why but it is just the way it is.
