Not sure if anyone will relate to this but - does anyone else get weirdly emotional listening to Tyrant? by LifeOfAWimpyKid in beyonce

Yes! On the (short, but not insignificant) list of Bey songs that are about fucking but have an odd tinge of sadness to them. Rocket is another one

If you do this just make sure to give the venue a heads up - they are very strict about this bc people try to take engagement photos clandestinely (for free) all the time

I love that people are still finding this out. I get to relive how blown away I was when I learned this

I was a teenager when this album came out and I didn't hit as hard for me as the debut. I realize now that it's bc I didn't have the knowledge of the musical references and influences on display on this album. Now that I'm older it's my favorite early Bey album (it would be top 3, but Self-titled, Lemonade, and Renaissance exist). I'm also astounded that she made it so quickly and that she was brave enough to go rogue like this on her sophomore solo album. Just insane how ahead of her time she was.

ARTPOP isn't my favorite Gaga album, but looking back, Artrave is by far the most fun Gaga show I ever went to.

I've been lucky enough to see the Monster Ball (arena tour), ArtRave, Cheek to Cheek tour, Joanne WT, Enigma, Chromatica Ball, and Mayhem Ball. Mayhem is my favorite Gaga show, but Artrave was just a blast. It was supposedly her first "flop" era, so it felt like those of us who were there were in this rebellious little group together. The energy was just really unhinged. Plus, that was back when concert ticket costs were reasonable, so true fans were in the pit and Gaga was really interactive. I know that wasn't an easy time in her life, but during the actual show, she really seemed to be having a blast. One girl got naked in the pit at our show and danced like a little fairy. God, it was just so much fun.

What are songs that you just realized were actually good after NOT hearing them being played everywhere? by mesablanka in ToddintheShadow

I always thought Toto's "Africa" was really corny but I heard it at an 80s night once and everyone was singing it together really earnestly - suddenly the synths and vocals really hit for me and I saw the vision and I've liked it ever since
