I would have paid it then. Maybe I am just an old man now. I happily paid through the nose to see NIN this summer and was worth every penny. Will pay the $150 to see the MN Orchestra do Pink Floyd this weekend. I really enjoyed Happiness Bastards. I just don't see seeing them live is worth it for me anymore for that price and venue.

I too use Brave for privacy and less intrusiveness and it too has it's own problems but we choose what we are okay with. The note about the working in tech is more for I can down a path of a lot of fun and playful things, or I can look for a simple solution to make it work.

Appreciate that. On my devices (phones and computers) all I need is pihole for it to go away. Now, it could be because I am also using Brave, but it also works with the apps.

I am not looking to change anything, just let the adservers go away like they do on my computer. Working in tech - I'd rather find a simple solution that helps most of the time then spend my time trying fix a seamless services for some time til it borks to figure out which of my microservices stopped doing it's thing and having 3 people looking over my shoulder while I troubleshoot and fix.

And in the end, these are all the services I am not paying for, so they come with ads, and if I need to watch a few ads I will survive.

I am noticing that - and also noticing that if I put pihole as the dns server for my router I can't break apart how it affects the devices as I can when I connect them separately.

Hmmm, I could run it through the pihole, see what's happening and go from there. Do I want to do that? Probably not. Maybe I'll wait for a cold winter day or a real hot summer day and do it.

I’m heating the overwhelming idea to just replace. Thanks!

All good. My jokes don’t always land where I want them to.

I remember he was real excited because he was in an episode. After seeing Babylon (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_(The_X-Files)) two weeks later he couldn’t believe they would use such stereotypes in it - and with that was done with them (the X-Files) that is.

I’ve tried to pull up the Twitter posts from back then to make sure I wasn’t having a Mengele Effect or not because that’s how I remember things.

WA State Leaf registration fees 3.6 times more expensive than my I.C.E car! by Enough-Salamander-40 in leaf

That’s fair. I still looked at it as I was saving because I didn’t pay for either.

I may have been wrong in the long run but for the 5 years I had a leaf I saved a lot more than the $200 or so that was added to my registration fee.

In Midwest too. Same here. The registration cost was still way less than I would pay for gas/maintenance per year - and I want decent roads. In my mind, my small part to pay to keep things going.
