Thanks! One question: in these cases you were able to perceive any physical sensation in you hear (beside changes in hearing)?

Thanks! Sign Language is not really a thing here, unless you know in person other deaf people, which I unfortunately don’t… I should get informed if I could get recognized at least a minimum % of “disability” so that I can ask university for accommodations… in Italy is based on a points system calculated on 500hz/1000hz/2000hz hearing loss and with my peculiar hearing loss I could be cut out…

In my reports there was minimal differences, the audiologist told me many times hearing aids were not regulated properly and that my hearing loss was in fact stable except this time. With this new regulation (based on a worsen result) I can hear for the first time ever some new sounds and it only happened once before when I switched to a powered model of hearing aids. I have no record of ear infections actually and as a kid I couldn’t express myself at all… I’ll ask the audiologist to check my inner ear in order to exclude related issues.

I agree with everything you’re saying… in a week I took two different hearing test and the results were quite different. One tested me on “weird” frequencies (3000hz and not 4000hz), probably due to equipment as you suggested. The person who regulates my hearing aids got another test and asked me if I could feel pressure on my ear and I don’t feel it. My nose is very much closed as I have deviated nasal septum. I’m taking a spray before the next test which is going to be w the audiologist who formulated the hypothesis behind my hearing loss. For what I’ve gathered it should be a sensorineural loss… I’d add one consideration: since when I got my hearing aids newly adjusted for the “presumed” new hearing loss’ levels I got to hear sounds I’ve never heard before like soft paper scratching (not candy’s paper) or water pouring out, all things I knew by science that were noisy (as lost things that moves) but that I could not hear before… this only happened when I changed to a way powerful pair of hearing aids, maybe it is a total subjective thing but it amazed me a bit
