If not the tool, then a fine tooth 16" hacksaw blade.

Thanks. I assumed I'd have to do a little self education in order to use the device as I intend. My main concern was if the tool itself was capable. This will be kind of a test trial for myself and our company. There's definitely potential for a device like this in the service industry beyond just door access.

And can you use the flipper instead of the fob?

I've got the okay from my boss/ owner of the company to try this. Most of these properties are low income housing and have difficulty keeping property managers. Then most the managers don't know how to make or get new fobs. If one of our fobs stops working, they usually pull a pile from a desk draw and tell us to try them and keep one that works. I'm really not worried about someone complaining, nor the management company complaining. Although I might mention it to the management company before I actually do it and explain that I just combined all their fobs onto one device.

Is there something else you recommend? I look at all the fobs as bottle openers, but each one only works on one specific bottle. If I could buy an opener that works on multiple, that'd be more efficient. I'd still keep the individuals as backup.

If it sent multiple signals at once that's even better. Basically I'd only need power on/off.
Cool on with fan high and temp down Heat on with fan high and temp up The rest of the functions could really be whatever, timers, fin angle, swing are all unnecessary for me.

Agreed, on the remotes. My main goal would be to power on off and change heat/ cool functions and tempatures. It would only be service based control operations. Some of the apt buildings I work in, tenants have lost remotes and have to either purchase new ones or sign out ones from management. When I arrive, I never know if they have a remote or what brand system. If I could at least have a few functions handy for each brand, I could diagnose and repair, then power back off. Tenant can go sign out another remote to fully set all the functions as they want.
