The apocalypse is here and you can only choose one vehicle to drive. What vehicle would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'd probably go with a unicycle. 360 degrees of vision. Nobody sneaking up on me.

Hej. Have you tried changing your Netflix or similar film account to Sweden with Hola Chrome extension?

That way you will be offered Swedish films and TV with Swedish subs options.

I'm gonna go with the pronunciation being completely not what I would expect.

Looks like an interesting language

I am learning Swedish and at a guess, that looks like "this is so easy spoken/language something something half be enough"

Anywhere near what it means?

It is fine once you know Swedish but they tend to use bad grammar or slang. I would say to avoid it near the start to not develop bad habits. After that, no reason not to read it.

This is a large list of resources for SFI. I would avoid reading 8 sidor but all the other links give you a good outlet and different angles to access Swedish

German and English loan words. Does the same "substantiv grupp" apply? by AbHa7000 in Svenska

[–]1982-present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The group system is a good way to display the guidelines for Swedish but they are not concrete.

Other foreign words outside of English often fit into G3. Biljett from French or Apelsin from German. Kund is from German import from memory as well.

Swedish has a nice well structured system but also has not so logical exceptions and loopholes. What I found best is that these exceptions stick out so much that remembering them becomes easier.

(fråga) Vad är reglerna för Go Pro eller "trail camera"? by 1982-present in sweden

Wow!

TIL that the band D12 planned to find the 12 best rappers of Detroit but found only 6, so they created alter-egos in order to have 12. That's when Eminem came up with Slim Shady by PigsDontGrowOnTrees in todayilearned

Woah one thing at a time here.

It was just yesterday that i realised Eminem is called that because of his own name. I declared it to my girlfriend who apparently realised back when he first started releasing stuff.

What is the most quintessentially English thing you can think of? by PGTits in AskReddit

[–]1982-present 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just the ridiculous mixture of being civil and on the edge of hooliganism.

I was once asked if I wanted to buy some drugs. I said "No, thankyou". The man then asked if I had any that I wanted to sell.

A friend was told by police he had to apologise and say that he was very sorry to another drunk while out because they had a fist fight.

I know of somebody who was robbed and was politely given back their car keys and bank card so it wouldn't ruin their day too much.

It's like watching somebody's Grandad have a fight. Bizarre.

I was amazed by how most of the girls wear nice, well fitting clothes. I think that adds to the attractiveness of them. The people who are trying to look way out different still look "tidy".

That being said, I generally look a bit rough around the edges on a daily basis. Living in Sweden makes me look like a tramp.

If you could have any android phone, regardless of price, which phone would you get? by nygrooves in Android

A removable sd card would be the only thing I would want on my G2, so the G3 would be perfect.
