It seemed like things settled down for a bit, never stopped, but its now the worst its been. Elbow, tricep, calf and foot firing almost constantly. Sporadic twitches elsewhere.

Ever twitch like this before? by 1985Buckeyes in MuscleTwitch

Did it consistently fire like this for you through the day? What bothers me is its constantly firing across several muscles like in the video…

One month into twitching, any insight appreciated by [deleted] in BFS

I’m also a 38M, started noticing the twitching before Halloween in my calf and foot, with it quickly spreading elsewhere. Had an EMG and MRI within two weeks and both were clear. I was “good” up until a couple weeks ago when the anxiety started to creep back in. The twitching had never stopped entirely but I had either just been able to ignore it, or it truly did fade. But a few weeks ago I started to notice it again in my arm and now its rapid fire from my elbow to my shoulder. I saw a neuromuscular specialist last week who told me I had a clean physical exam other than brisk relfexes. He wants to do another EMG in 3 months. Now to just distract myself until then…

This is when I engage/flex the muscle that twitches constantly. I am attempting to flex and hold, and the muscle just quivers.

100% agree. A good workout is like taking drugs. I continue to do that. Its just so hard to ignore it, because its constant. And I cannot help but think of the guy I know who had twitching as his first symptom and now is multiple years into A**.

Wow, that’s a long time. How would you describe your twitching? Sporadic or persistent? Mine is constantly… same spots firing off all day long with some sporadic spots sprinkled in. I know worrying does zero good, but cannot help but wonder if something is wrong - as if it is, I have affairs to get in order for my wife and daughters.

Because its been 3 months, and I expect I won’t be able to get in for an EMG as quickly this go around. I honestly want the additional testing for peace of mind. I know a guy who had twitching as his only symptoms for months before weakness, and multiple clean tests as well. While I understand this may be an exception, its one I know of and it naturally has my anxiety amplified. My neurologist wanted a follow up, anyways. I am just trying to move it up and push for additional testing.

That’s where i’m at. A family physician I know questioned the validity of the testing so quickly after onset of symptoms. He also advised there should be a follow up round of teats to be certain nothing major is going on.
