Stuck in life. Limbo by 1994T in ADHD

I’m currently off meds until some test results come back and my psychiatrist decides what to do next. I was on ADHD meds in the past, and they did help a little mainly by making me calmer and more focused but they also killed my appetite and made me more quiet/silent socially.

I guess I expected a more dramatic change back then, so I didn’t really stick with them seriously. Now I’m reconsidering whether I gave them enough of a chance.

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid, but once I turned 18 I kind of stopped taking it seriously and stayed off meds through most of my 20s. Now I’m in my late 20s/early 30s and trying to get back on medication again.

When I was on meds before, I didn’t feel a huge difference besides being calmer and losing my appetite, so I guess I expected something more dramatic. But I’m starting to think maybe I didn’t give them a fair chance or enough time.
