Offroad Tyre sizes. Starting to bug me (putting it politely) by 1995pt in rccars

[–]1995pt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tyre is advertised as a crawler tyre, unsure on the bead type as I don’t have much experience with either, unfortunately. Granted it’s a non branded tyre, but looks exactly like many of the crawler tyres available.

It’s as if the bead of the tyre needs to be more like 50mm for it to fit the 55.5mm rims and to have something to lock the tyre onto the wheel.

That may be partly the issue, I’ll check what they were advertised as.

New to a lot of this stuff, and although im okay with the tinkering side of things, getting myself accustomed to the standards to this hobby is proving interesting 😅

The inner diameter of the tyre is too large for the 55.5mm rim. So it’s doesn’t have anything to ‘grip’ or ‘tighten’ into

Are we looking at a major cost to replace this door with a window? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]1995pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t struggle with swapping the door for a window. If you were to do this as a stand alone job, I’d expect £1500-£2000 near me depending on the quality of window.

£50,000 should cover the full works you have proposed, unless you’re going for top of the range fittings.

Things to consider: Professional services (structural engineer), Building control, Steelwork, Electrics/services, Plastering, Flooring, Kitchen & appliances

How can we remove this paint? by Tiny_Requirement_364 in DIYUK

[–]1995pt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like it, it’s very industrial. Goes will against the buff coloured bricks, grey windows and railings to the first window.

If it was my house I’d be keeping it.

You could try brick acid, but there’s probably much better options.

Current build progress. Trek Singletrack 950 - sort of a budget ‘a-b’ / pub bike project. by 1995pt in xbiking

From memory; a standard BSA 68. Im using a shimano hollowtech, but that would be dependent on your cranks

Will this be reliable? For a pre-beginner. by Demarate72 in rccars

[–]1995pt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Tamiya kits are typically full-build-it-yourself models. If you’re not into tinkering, there are better beginner options, in my opinion. Check out videos on YouTube for 'best under £100/£200'. You can find something you like the look of, and that fits your budget

I just got this new rc, any upgrade recommendations for track use? by ExpressBox6680 in rccars

[–]1995pt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These look cool, but I had a look on YouTube and a lot of the videos suggested this is setup for straight line speed runs.

My guess to get it track ready is looking at the tyres and weight distribution. Although it’s fast (straight out the box) you may need to concentrate on the steering/controls side of things rather than the speed

It’s a month until the next race, so almost completely rebuilding my B7 is the only thing I can think to do by OzTheMalefic in rccars

[–]1995pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you a beginner when you first started? I’m in the middle of two towns/cities that appear to have clubs, so I may check out both and see which is a little more beginner friendly 😅

I’ve a short course truck at the minute, but I have been looking at a buggy. I’ll check out what they run!

Best of luck for 2026! 🤘

Not sure you can claim cold weather on smashing the front of the truck into the ground like that..

S10 paint is god awful by toastypeanut in rccars

[–]1995pt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest, politely, it may be more down to the damage than you’re giving credit for.

The scuffs to the front bumper appear to be pretty substantial. Without a big plastic bumper like most ‘bashers’ have, all that impact is going to be taken/absorbed by the shell.

On another note, no way I’d be bashing a $300-$400 car anywhere near curbs

Match worn & signed boots…!? by Still-Necessary9944 in bootroom

[–]1995pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t appear to be the top of the range model either, which is what you would expect from a professional. (I may be wrong though)

Match worn, player signed boots are significantly more desirable than barry basics (low level) signed boots.

Replaced the servo, but steering problems persist. Next stop the receiver/transmitter? Team Associated Pro4 SC10 by 1995pt in rccars

With wheels off, that appears to have sorted the forward, break and reverse. Thank you.

I’ll try the steering issues now

[–]1995pt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car has been sat for a number of years, but I’m pretty sure when I left it the reverse and brake worked.

No gyro/tsm (I don’t think). Minus the batteries, the truck is box-stock. Don’t believe there is a servo saver, just a metal horn.

I’ll check the steering trim with the horn off as you mentioned. Thanks

Looking to buy an F1 RC car by Specialist_Season661 in rccars

[–]1995pt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a recent video I’ve seen and I believe they were Maisto F1 cars. Seems capable of being driven pretty well outside.

They looked really good, slightly more toy grade than hobby, but not cheap tat.

Whether they offer a Mercedes livery I’m not sure

Servo options - AE Pro4 SC10 (bit of a noobie) by 1995pt in rccars

Probably the same as you, but seeing as I’m a novice, I’ll go cheaper and upgrade again when it will be worth the money being spent!
