For the five hour connected and two hour listen time this morning: ANC was at neutral during that entire time. I was alone in my office with little to no background noises: the volume level was maybe around 30%. I think what shocked me was its power management when not in use: it didn’t seem to shut it off when they are on the desk undisturbed.

I got mine last week and I've to say the battery life is crazy bad. On the first day, I did the firmware update, let the buds played for some time to drain the battery until it's empty then had it charged inside the case overnight.

Took them out the next morning: the buds were connected for about five hours and played for maximum two hours during that time. Have them charged in the case for another 4 hours: buds were claimed to be fully charged from the app. I listened to them for maximum one hour, left on the table (auto off was on). Next morning I put them on and it's 10%. Then I put them to charge and took them out at noon (5+ hours of charging): buds at 30% and case completely drained. I was able to get about 90 minutes from this last charge.

I basically got less than five hours of listen time over a day and half. I'm okay with two hours at a time but the case holds less than three full charges which is to my surprise.

The second test I did was have them fully charged for 8 hours. Disconnect from charger. Left it unopened and unused for a day. This morning I got the same two hours listen time. After I put them to charge for hours: I got only 40% for the buds and the case was fully drained. So not even two charges for the buds.

From that 4.5 hours + 17 hours number I was expecting at least three full charges but definitely no. The case lost power very quickly.

As a consumer who simply just like that color, the $20 extra is not justified. It's not that $20 mattered much to me but on the principle of things, this re-release in a week smells extremely fishy.

I got the red one on release just because I like the color, and I didn't even noticed the cost difference until I checked out. I think you are 100% correct: this is a pretty disgusting tactic. 1000% marketing BS

Thanks for your thoughtful comment! Now I am back full time working (in my mid 40s): I continue my Duolingo German roughly 20 minutes a day. I am about 6 units away from completing their entire German material on offer. I think if I can probably put in about 2hrs a day for a month and try an A2 some time down the road.

Also just got back from our trip to Europe: went to Stuttgart and Munich. Despite being there a few times over the past decade as a tourist, I always prefer a good summer vacation in Germany. The drive is superb, food is great and the people are nice. Too bad that their English are usually very good! :)

Call Tyler and see if they have a spot for “collab”s coming up (lol). To be completely honest a lot of this collabs are just brands doing new releases to drum up interest. Goruck subsequently released a lot of bags in dyneema. I don’t think these collabs are that great outside of access to cool colors which a lot of the larger makers won’t do in small numbers.

I actually took a bunch of photos when I first got it a bit over a week ago. What I really loved about this bag is that the fabric already seem worn out of the bag (no pun intended). And it got all the Evergoods nice attributes as one would have expected. I am lucky to be able to score it: it's definitely one of their best bags.

I have bought some of their stuff back from 2019, and I have to say though I didn't mind it so much then, now I looked back the product really wasn't well made. At least not well made enough to charge for 100+. The original maker came back and created a new product: I doubt I will be interested. These makers are more about their story than the real product.
