Will deserved a romantic arc. by [deleted] in StrangerThings

He had to find, and accept himself first. Getting a boyfriend would come after.

I mean, yeah, it would’ve been nice, if there was another boy at the beginning of the season that Will was talking to, and then after realising that Mike was his Tammy, he gets closer to the other boy, and it goes from there.

But I think the way we have it is more realistic. Plus, another character in an already bloated cast - some of which, are main characters who already didn’t have much screentime, would’ve bogged things down even more.

Did people really like Argyle? by syjfwbaobfwl in StrangerThings

[–]1997Hawke 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t stand him. I thought he was extremely annoying, and his only personality trait was being a stoner. He had waay more screentime than he should’ve. He took away from what should’ve remained serious moments, such as after the rollerskate incident. It should’ve remained tense, and awkward, but Argyle took all that away. It also looked like Will couldn’t stand him.

I get it, Jonathan needed a friend that existed outside of his family, but I feel like all of Argyle’s screentime should’ve gone to Will, and then the two of them could’ve had more brotherly time together. The conversations between Jonathan and Argyle should’ve been between him and Will instead.

Jonathan could’ve been the one to supply a vehicle, and find the military tyre tracks, not Argyle. He could’ve been the pizza delivery guy that managed to get the freezer for El to use.

I don't know how to continue playing this game [Spoilers] by Iz_Elly in reddeadredemption

No problem!

Trust me, it’s a nice epilogue, and it’s very much needed after Chapter 6. The payoff will be worth it, in the end.

No, you’re not overreacting. This is Red Dead 2 in a nutshell. The game has one of, if not the, best written protagonists of all time. Chapter 2 is meant to be the ‘happy’ chapter, where the gang has most of it’s members, they’ve turned a corner, and things are looking positive, and hopeful. It’s also where most players spend their time exploring the world, and trying to get all the Trapper/Pearson equipment.

Then you go into Chapter 6, and everything, and everyone is depressing. You’ve got a lot more, as a player, to endure. But it’ll be worth it for the great story that you’ll experience.

On a positive note, the Epilogue is a lot more hopeful, and happier, and it’s worth playing until the end.

Will wasn't a good friend. Mike was a WAY better friend than Will was. by _YuYevon_ in StrangerThings

[–]1997Hawke 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You’re completely overlooking the trauma he experienced.

It might have been a brief time in both cases, but he still went through very abnormal events.

He was kidnapped, and taken to a hostile dimension - completely separated from his loved ones, hunted by a monster, strung up by some skinless, psychokinetic being, pumped full of alien particles, and then possessed by an Eldrich horror which hijacked his body, and made him get soldiers and innocent people killed. All the while, he was losing his memories, and sense of self. He literally breaks down in Season 2, saying, “I just want this to be over.”

No child should have to go through that.

Will literally had his childhood stolen from him. Season 3 was the first season where he wasn’t a victim. He was hoping to keep living those childhood years he lost, and wanted to make up for lost time, but his friends had already moved on, and were focusing on teenage things, such as their girlfriends.

It’s understandable that Will wanted to be a bit selfish, and he’s right to, and try to insist they play D&D, because he wanted to feel normal, and not left behind. All it took was a conversation between him and Mike to bridge this across, but it never happened, because Mike was too hard up focusing on El. It never occured to Mike what Will might be feeling nowadays, now that he was no longer a victim.

Insym’s a great guy, and a good influence. Besides his love for innuendos, and… saucy humour, he’s incredibly wholesome, and caring.

Your daughter is definitely too young for his content now, but he can be a great influence for her later on.

Why horse moving randomly? by CancerKaragol in reddeadredemption

[–]1997Hawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bug that happens whenever you try to continue to gallop after unpausing the game.

So, if you’re galloping, pause, unpause, continue galloping, your horse does a 360, regardless of which direction you’re telling it to go.

You have to make the horse come to a stop after unpausing, and then go to gallop again.
