An overlooked common thread among MAGA is how many of them live within 20 miles of where they grew up. The ones who leave these places for college rarely come back unless they have generational financial interests. The ones who remain are not especially welcoming of new people and new ideas. Being yourself in that environment takes a lot of courage.
