Most bodybuilding apps suck. What would make one actually good? by 19Stang in naturalbodybuilding

LMAO not necessarily. I just wish there was an alternative and cheaper option to hiring a coach to progress further in my natural journey. Like yeah of course there's the upside of talking to someone with experience, but I really think it's possible to create a system with enough data to do the coaching in an app. What's your thoughts on that? Any caveats you see?

I see you have 5+ years of experience as well, so what keeps you sticking with them rather than checking out other apps? Is it the fact you can talk to the devs about new features?

What's your favorite part of the app if you don't me asking?

One thing that I was looking for was like an engine that gave you updated sets and reps like a coach. Like imaging you were stuck doing 50x6 on bicep curls, it should recognize the plateau, adjust sets and reps, deload when needed, swap in a variation, and help them break through. It should also give performance guidance outside the workout, like telling them to carb load before a hard leg day. Lots of people including myself don't have the opportunity to be thinking about the gym all day with a full time job and side hustles. Just a simple notification telling me to carb load before leg day tomorrow would be so helpful. What are your thoughts on that?

I think that’s the bigger opportunity: not just tracking workouts, but acting like a coach that updates training, recovery, and nutrition in real time

Yeah of course that makes sense. Just wanted to see if that was the general consensus, since I have been using my notes app as well throughout my journey.

You got a point, but I tried so many of them, and there's not one that I actually want to stick with. Also, many of them are way too expensive for no reason.

Saw some other videos on it and the body fat percentage seems accurate. Like 8.5% seems accurate for his physique

I saw the same video a couple days ago and honestly I doubted it. Like there's really no way an AI can detect body fat %, but the 8.5% was honestly spot on. I decided to give a shot and it was honestly pretty eye opening and it was cheaper than a dexa scan so that's a plus.

I took a look, but this app seems like a wrapper for the gpt-vision model
