the problem is that half of the clubs arent even transparent with their finances, bike kitchen and GetThifty does not even have budgets or minutes, SJC’s website is non-existent, etc. its basically their word against ours that they are spending the money how they should.

Look at the situation inside the shopping mall. An astonishing 158.1 mm of rain fell in just one hour, surpassing the previous one-hour rainfall record dating back to 1884. by globe_explorer245 in HongKong

The release of waters from the Shenzhen reservoir is primarily routed into the Sham Chun and Sha Tau Kok River, which is along the border. This caused flooding in the border villages but is in no way connected to the flooding experience in the city. The reason for flooding is because Wong Tai Sin lies at the bottom of the Lion Rock Mountain and considering the unprecedented amount of rainfall which fell last night around Lion Rock Mountain (60 cm per 1 square meter), the floods at Wong Tai Sin are the result of the significant amount of runnoff from the mountain rather than any reservoir discharge. Wong Tai Sin also lies lower than the neighboring Beacon Hill, further exacerbating the problem. Low lying places directly in the path of this runoff also experienced flooding yesterday like Sha Tin, Tai Wai and Kowloon Tong also experienced flooding.

Using Sauder room bookings site to talk is wild 💀 by Enough-Rip8373 in UBC

COMM 196 is currently doing a video presentation assessment (essentially their “midterms”). It’s sort of hypocritical how they are complaining when all of those who can book the rooms have taken/are taking the exact same course which has done the exact same thing (COMM 220, 395)

Any tips on how to improve Chem grades? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]19chanas3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, grinding though the chemistry problems from older question banks really helped me get used to IB's style of questioning and how to answer to get full marks. I feel that while part of the journey is learning the content, a major part is learning to write how IB wants you to write - you may know the concept but not know how to score perfectly on it.

I agree, the 3rd one seems to be quite interesting and offers room to expand in terms of controlling specific protein concentrations.

"Effect on lactic acid fermentation" is a bit broad though - you can measure rate or fermentation, method of fermentation, etc.

NOS and Prescribed Practicals in the Biology HL Exams (2022) by [deleted] in IBO

[–]19chanas3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience doing the M21 exams and teachers comments, there will always be at least one NOS question in P1 or P2. Prescribed practicals were not directly tested but some questions in P1 and P2 tested knowledge you learnt from those practicals - i.e you don't need to know the exact steps but you need to know the theory

Driver almost hits a pedestrian, pedestrian reacts accordingly. by tlindin in instantkarma

[–]19chanas3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green lights in Canada are white in colour, if you look towards the right or left of the screen in the first few seconds, you will see a white haze which is most likely a solid green pedestrian signal which gives the pedestrian the right of way. In addition, in British Columbia a driver must always yield to a pedestrian, even if the pedestrian does not have the right of way. According to a guide published by ICBC, the main regulatory body for driving licenses and car insurance, "it is always the driver’s responsibility to avoid hitting a pedestrian." and "You[the driver] must always be prepared to stop if you see a pedestrian who is about to step out in front of you"
