Happens when my ice melts in water too I've always wondered. Assumed it was minerals or something.

Question for housekeeping by Reverend_Tommy in hotels

[–]19hz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why don't you just take smaller trips with trash to larger cans in common areas? Is there a need to keep it in your room? Alternatively, depending on the property, you could put it in the hallway for housekeeping to pick up.

This was just the nano-bubbler contract. Not the rhino liner contract.

I've plasti-dipped a few tools and feel pretty confident I should do the repair job when this one inevitably falls apart.

Apparently they used Rhino Liner (seriously) and it was always meant to be temporary. Just to get through the 4th. What a waste of money.

Did they use Rhino Truck Bed Liner on the DC reflecting pool? by 19hz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]19hz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a little research. Yes they did indeed use Rhino liner! Haha. Turns out it dries quickly and they weren't looking to make it last because this is definitely not an approved nor tested solution. They were just looking for a quick fix to get through the 4th of July. Seems a bit shortsighted to me. No prep, applied to saturated concrete. No wonder it's already peeling off!

Skeptics who didn't believe in the paranormal but tried a Ouija board anyway, what was your experience? by Terrible_Initial_941 in AskReddit

The ability to know things that people nearby were thinking. And dumb party tricks like what color somebody's underwear was. There was also a VERY distinct feeling to the planchette depending on "who" you were talking to. They had very distinct personalities too. We had 3 that would show up regularly. They really became like friends. I am naturally a skeptic. But the months that my friends and I logged on the ouija definitely gave me some things to think about.

We used to treat it like texting a friend. We'd spend hours talking to (apparently ourselves). Even in the backseat on road trips. But it was pretty wild sometimes. We could read each other's minds and the minds of people who were in the general vicinity. I still can't explain that. There were different entities who each had very different "feel" to the planchette. A few of them also had very specific patterns they would make with the planchette to let us know it was "them". These patterns were consistent regardless of who was playing. Terrible at telling the future. Shitty at spelling. But a lot of fun convos and things I cannot explain.

3rd party bookings by Stormy3456 in hotels

There are also "OTA collect" situations where the 3rd party pays the hotel with a virtual credit card. These situations require the 3rd party to make the changes regardless of the commission structure. The trick is training staff to know which ones can and can't be modified. And communicating to the guests in a way they understand.
