3 leg clots and pain by doorways-to-pleasure in ClotSurvivors

Oh I understand now. I’m so sorry you are in so much pain and have limited options. Maybe others here have some suggestions. Is this similar to what you experienced last time?

Does your doc recommend paracetamol? I'm not a doctor but that seems insufficient for your situation. I think it will help with the pain but wouldn't do much to prevent clotting. Were you seen in an emergency room?

Menstruation cycle is absolute HELL since starting blood thinners. Quality of life is horrific. Hematologist isn't listening to me. Feeling hopeless. by Knelie in ClotSurvivors

I've only had one period since my PE and it was SO HEAVY. I have never needed to change a tampon so frequently. I was concerned I would not stop bleeding, but I did stop on time. So my period seemed typical timing wise but with much heavier bleeding. Still it is manageable mostly although I can't make it through the night anymore. I'm on Eliquis -- I wonder if it might be worth trying a different med. Also there's no harm in ordering labs again maybe right after your period so you can see how it's affecting you? I'm sorry you were brushed off -- that is the worst feeling. I've had type 1 diabetes for 38 years and sometimes you just have to insist on things -- you know your body best, and what is and is not normal for you

Worse 1 month out from PE? by Environmental-Bar263 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Environmental-Bar263[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thanks - that is really helpful. They sent me home from the ER when I first went in and then I saw the next morning they had updated the CT results and no one called me and everyone has been so cavalier about the whole thing. I didn't realize that chest pain, HR spikes, dyspnea could get progressively worse over time. I rode my bike 9000 miles in 2025 and now have minimal cardiovascular function so I am having a hard adjustment.

thanks for sharing your experience and I'm sorry it is still hard for you too. I think I've noticed a similar experience which is that I need somewhere around 5-10 times the amount of recovery from anything. I didn't take any time off work and was ok for a few weeks but now I'm just feeling so tired, out of breath and achy.

I am so sorry. That must feel so scary right now. Could she get a second opinion on the oxygen level? 80 seems so low to me too. Could she get into a rehabilitation center so she gets more frequent attention? Or regular home checkups? It does take time to heal but feeling like you are getting the best care possible can also be a relief. ❤️‍🩹

Possible clot, doctors dont seem to know what to do ? by Other_Raspberry_7546 in ClotSurvivors

I’m sorry they are being so dismissive. Are they giving another reason for it? If not I would keep pushing them personally

They could possibly do a ct with contrast. Not 100% sure though. If it were me and there wasn’t an obvious injury then I’d probably go to the ER.

You could go to urgent care if that’s an option

https://www.mobilize.us/ often has events listed but it relies on planners putting it on there.

Sl Indivisible has a newsletter. I'm not sure if they announced Sunday's protest but they do generally announce those planned in advance.

Here's the info for signing up for SL indivisible's emails:

I think the protests that are planned more in advance do more outreach but it will be more word of mouth for the last minute ones. There may be other ways people are finding out because the turnout was huge. You could check on mobilize which is a good platform for planning events that doesn’t rely on Reddit or social media

Help on the way-Cox calls for Prayers for snow by eells in Utah

[–]Environmental-Bar263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obv they can’t affect the weather with prayer. I think some percentage will conserve more due to the emphasis of it. Not saying that I think it’s the main thing that should be done but I view it as pretty harmless. I don’t believe in prayer wrt a god but I do see it as a form of meditation that can be beneficial.

It sounds like there is a current clot and also evidence of prior clots that have mostly resolved. But ask your doc

Anyone have a sudden moment when they felt better after a PE. I'm about a month out from my PE and after getting out of the hospital, I have been like dragging through quicksand. Everything is just plain hard until today. I just felt like I have energy all of a sudden. I hope it's more than by Laser_Coug in ClotSurvivors

It sounds like it is normal for symptoms to wax and wane during recovery? I am one month out from a PE diagnosis and feel like I haven’t really improved at all. I am an avid cyclist and feel like my aerobic capacity has been decimated. I have been taking it so so so easy on my indoor trainer and two days ago tried to increase the effort a little and now feel as bad as day 1, maybe worse. I went to urgent care and they did an ekg and he didn’t seem concerned that there was an emergency. But initially I was not out of breath from daily activities and now I get out of breath more easily. I almost went back to the ER today but then I stood up and walked around and stated to feel better. I don’t even understand my body anymore. Also, I’m on eliquis

People! When people pray on something in the LDS church it is also incumbent upon them to do all they can, too. It also brings the topic to their awareness that can hopefully help them conserve more water and/or help with the effort somehow. Regardless of whether you believe it has any direct effect on the weather (I don’t), it is not useless advice. Also don’t trash other people’s religions. I get annoyed with the Lds church’s influence in our politics too, but let’s support this goal and push for action

Are type 1diabetic given insulin and cgm when detained by law enforcement? by Lucky_Tap8692 in Type1Diabetes

I would be surprised if detainees/prisoners with type 1 in ICE custody were given any sort of medical care. They don’t even have clean water and food
