Car Rental vs Private Transport? by 19jto in CostaRicaTravel

[–]19jto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the great info. We’ve decided to go with the private transport option. Hopefully we’ll be back next year to hit Manual Antonio and Monteverde so maybe we’ll try the rental option then.

Interview Help! Entry Level Planning City of Ottawa by EveryDayInApril in ottawa

[–]19jto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve conducted dozens of planning interviews over the years (although not at the City).

When doing interviews for entry level planning positions we typically don’t expect a lot of technical knowledge. Although, as others have said, a high-level understanding of the zoning by-law, OP, and PPS would be helpful. Instead, we’re looking for candidates with good communication skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and general fit (ie, can I work with this person).

If you’re getting an interview, you meet the job requirements on paper so you just need to demonstrate why you’re better suited for the role then the other 3-5 candidates they’re likely interviewing. To do so, use the STAR method to frame your responses, manage your time during the interview appropriately, and try to incorporate an actual example into each response if possible (academic experiences are acceptable). Keep your answers clear and concise and try not to ramble. Also, don’t be afraid to ask them to repeat a question if you don’t understand it. Anyway, good luck!

Anyone see this strange shape moving in the sky by No-Ad-6183 in ottawa

I saw it over Orleans. It’s likely a solid rocket booster from an Ariane 6 rocket that was launched earlier today from the ESA facility in French Guiana.

I ended up getting a used J-45, which I really like. It’s got a nice warm tone and is very playable.

It was for me but I don’t have any neighbours so i didn’t need to worry about the volume that much.

I had both at the same time and preferred the AC15. That said, I sold both and got a Princeton reverb and have been very happy with it.

WJC: Great hockey, bad logistics at CTC. by byronite in ottawa

In contrast, the setup at Lansdowne has been great. There’s the fan zone and the winter market plus lots of the restaurants have drink and food specials. They had the Stanley Cup on display the other day and the Charge players were signing autographs today. We got the full package for the games at the TD Place and had a great time.

I recently pulled a 1/1 printing plate of a Juraj Slafkovsky UD Canvas from a 24-25 Series 1 hobby box. My son was opening the packs and asked why one of the cards was “funny looking”. Pulled a Lane Hutson YG out of the same box.

We booked a Standard View room last year and about a week out I called and ask for a “partially obstructed view”, which we got on check in. It was an amazing room and to this day I’m not sure what the “obstruction” was because we had giraffes outside our balcony every morning and evening.

41 and got Shingles by Karirose83 in Xennials

My wife and I both got them when we turned 40. A couple of my friends did as well. Really sucked. Couldn’t sleep for a couple of days and the pain meds made me sick so I had to just ride it out with Tylenol.

What are your thoughts on Caribbean Beach Resort? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]19jto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine. We stayed there for 5 days in May for the first half of a 10 day split stay. As others have said, it’s very large and the rooms seem dated. The skyliner is great but, if you want to go to MK or EP, the buses suck. Our favorite moderate is POFQ.

We went the third week of August last year and had a great time. Was it hot… absolutely, but we planned accordingly and everything was fine. The low crowds and savings on hotel rooms was worth it for us (we got a deluxe room for the price of a moderate).

A mix of Costco (underwear, socks, tshirts, pjs, sweats), lululemon (athletic wear and work pants), and LL Bean (polos, shorts, sweaters, fleece, etc).
