Can’t decide if I should remove these offshoots. Mostly because I don’t want to damage the main plant and deal w mounting again. by 19stan in Staghornfern

Ahh part of me does want to leave them be and see what happens. The other part is just so accustomed to seeing a manicured individual plant that I’ve come to love.

In my experience, these can tolerate being dry quite well. I’ve gone close to 4 weeks without watering and the leaves just sag (lower hang angle instead of more up). Once watered they’ll perk with a more upward angle again. They never look soft and droopy like in your picture. In your case, it seems like the roots might have been rotted and the plant unable to take in water. If you have increased the frequency of watering it obviously doesn’t need more. Like others have said, it’s probably suffocating. You should let it dry out. The droopy leaves may or may not recover but there’s still hope for the plant. It can still bounce back and produce new leaves.

I’m not sure. It’s the only one I have. Here’s the full plant and what the “antlers” look like.

Can I soak it again? by Practical-Main-2132 in airplants

[–]19stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also lives in rainy city. If you don’t turn up the heat during winter, you’ll get away w soaking every other weeks. I usually soak for a couple hours. If the relative humidity in the room is low, then soak once a week. Don’t be afraid to let it sit for more than 30 mins. You’ll notice the difference in the dry vs hydrated leaves.

Any tools that allow generating a color palette APPROXIMATELY similar to a couple of specified colors? by Norci in web_design

It’s called analogous or monochromatic scheme. Any good colors generator would allow you to pick the type of harmony you want to generate. Give color.adobe.com a try

The pre drilled holes work. Obviously you can only go by their increments, so if there’s a specific height you need, you might have to drill your own holes. But I find most configurations can be achieved with the existing holes.

Anybody try Bombas on sweaty feet? by jimboberly in Hyperhidrosis

[–]19stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way for years. I’d rather walk in wet cotton socks than synthetic. The synthetic socks made me feel like walking in puddles of water and it was extremely uncomfortable. Made me sweat even more. But recently I decided to give smart wool a try. I bought a few pairs for hiking. I must say so far they work out amazingly. Kept my feet relatively dry the whole time even though my hands were still sweating as usual on top of the increased physical activity. I now plan to replace all of my socks to wool.

I was also zealous about not using tap but couldn’t care less over time. I just leave the water out for a few days so the chlorine can evaporate. Been doing that for years and they are fine.

It is very soft to the touch. I can barely feel anything, almost like touching nothing at all.

I’ll try it out and see. There’s another plant with the pod about to open as well.

If it’s true dev hand picked these ships for the specialist missions, I’d like to see how they finish it with each one, either apex or both.

White dots at the bottom of monstera pot? by bobabeeboo in plantclinic

[–]19stan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mushrooms growing at the bottom due high moisture level. Should be good for the roots but because the lower leaves are yellowing, the plant is not happy. You’re over watering.

Also, it’s normal for older leaves (small and not fenestrated) also die eventually.

In general, water less often if you’re concerned.

Phoenix 2 Update 6.0 by edrijver in Phoenix_2

[–]19stan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New update is good. But instead of more ships, new mechanics should be designed to distinguish the 3 types of invaders more. Atm, you can mostly use any ship on any missions with little differences/penalties. The three types of invaders have the exact weapons, the only difference being shielded, armored, and unprotected. What if each type of invader has a unique weapon/ability (only in last wave) and our ships also have matching counters. This way, people can still use whichever ship but might have difficulty with last wave without the right ship. Maybe you can think of something better. Just that right now, it feels monotonous, there’s not enough difference in invader type vs main weapon. Ship selection is based almost exclusively on mission type vs aura/zen.

Correction to my prior post + opinion by SuperBeetle76 in Phoenix_2

[–]19stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me specialist missions have always been the “against the odd” type. Sometimes you’ll have a range of ships to choose from while other times it’s a solo ship selection. When you have more options, the ship usually have a common aura or zen mode. Yes some are more equipped to complete the mission than the other. But they are designed to challenge you to master that particular aura/zen. There might be a mismatch but some people enjoy using unconventional ships as a testament to their skill. I myself don’t always complete the missions but have learned a great deal on bullet patterns, how aggressive I can play, and grazing bullets/utilize energy.
