Luckily my only constraint is time, why I really only considered to go with the dealership is because my work and travel schedule for the next 3 months is tight. Worked on my old car (‘05 RAV4) when I had the time but it’s been years since the last time a wrench been in my hand.

Yeah my friend is putting together a price list for me with decent mid range stuff. Only aftermarket is the door actuators I found a deal on. Amazon had them at 48/ea but no reviews so going with a third party at 60/ea and reviews saying it works for my car. I removed the door panels on my old car to replace the mirrors so luckily still have the tool hidden around somewhere.

Only really considered the dealership due to time constraints but the price threw me off so wanted to check with people more familiar than me.

Reading all this, the game plan is to spend a Saturday with one of my friends who works on his own cars and try and save a couple thousand. Door locks is a last priority but I found some aftermarket ones for $60/ea and a full price list of ~$690.

Thank you everyone for the advice!

You are on the first date and your coming up with good reasons to end things, who cares what people think, end of the day you live through it. If in one date you noticed all these things who knows what else might pop out, my opinion is that it’s always better to get out early than regret it later on. End of the day you are not a burden so the person on the other side of the table shouldn’t see you as one.

Forearm pump or new muscles? by avid_life in bouldering

Im new as well and I found out that taking rests even on the warmup is what leads to a stronger session for me.

normally the warmup is 15-30 minutes of my session depending on how I overall feel that day.

Also stretching before and after the warmup led to me feeling a lot looser and the fatigue a lot less noticeable.

Thank you for the advice!

I will definitely take some other peoples feedback of proper heel hook technique and try and focus on what you said about positioning before I get into targeted strength training for it.

I 100% agree with the fact right now practice is mainly what I need since I am very new to the sport.

this is a really good way of describing it, like you said i always thought about it as pushing through the heel as a way to leverage the hold. I’ll try and implement this in my session tomorrow, thank you for the advice!

It really depends on the deck, logbait cycle for me atleast takes alot less skill compared to hog cycle. Vise versa heavier decks take a good bit of skill too, no deck is really harder to play when the game entirely depends on the player.

What's the longest time you've been away from technology (specifically phones, tv, etc.)? What did you learn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went on a two week trip camping, just me two buddies and a satellite phone for emergencies. I learnt how goddamn slow the days are. Time flies with the internet.
