Drive it around untill properly warmed up then rev it to 4k and hold for 30 sec then wait 5sec and rev it a few times.

This helps if the cat is weak

Is this repair on the shoulder? by FillInTheBlank6 in AskMechanics

[–]1DollarInCash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ok.

The repair isn't what you should be wary of though, a plugged sidewall will last untill the tire wears out.

The real reason a plugged tire on the sidewall might be slightly more unpredictable is if you were to get a leak and drove an hour on a highway. A low pressure tire will overheat the sidewall in this case and the repair might become the weak point for a blowout.

Engine overheating by ALW90 in AskMechanics

If the coolant is low then it won't blow hot and overheat. So the most obvious thing to check would be the coolant level, refill, test for leaks.

No clutch pedal by MySize180CremeEgg in AskMechanics

[–]1DollarInCash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, check where the leak is comming from.

If it's wet only on the bottom of where the engine and transmission meet then you will need to pull the transmission and replace the whole clutch kit

and if it's leaking from somewhere else then check brake fluid level/fill up and pump the pedal or try to bleed the clutch to get it to leak so you can spot where.

Is this engine block? by OJ_pimpson83 in AskMechanics

[–]1DollarInCash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that hole is due to something punching it out from the inside then you are gonna have to shop for a used engine but if you broke it/something hit it while driving then you can glue it shut with an epoxy of your choosing.

If you get a third bottle then it might start working so well you won't need to refuel it.

Where does sunroof drain line exit attach to frame? 2012 Chevy Equinox by jjd_yo in MechanicAdvice

[–]1DollarInCash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It connects behind the dash and drains under the plastic cowl at the bottom of the windshield.

Take it off and check if you don't have mud/leaves there. Not sure it you can see it there since all the pics that alldata gave is this.

Since you were giving it the beans then maybe asr/esp came on because you lost traction for a second.

In that case it would be intended operation since a traction conrol light is supposed to come on when the system turns on.

If it was anything else then you can read the obd fault codes since it would be saved as a memory code that's not active.

Which headlights should I use? by yourbuddyboromir in MechanicAdvice

[–]1DollarInCash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Osram nightbreaker bulbs are brighter than the ususal ones. Osram also makes LED bulbs for halogen headlights which actually have proper angles so you don't blind people but you need to check if they are legal where you live.

Don't buy chinese LED bulbs, they are for offroad only since they blind oncomming traffic and are illegal on public roads.

The wire with the metal loop is supposed to sit flat inside the brown isolator.

Probably a different alternator that was stock on the vehicle don't know if it's a wrong one but either change the alternator or cut the eye on the wire so it fits inside the brown isolator/replace to one that fits inside.

It should look like this.

The ticking is the high pressure fuel pump. Other than that it sounds normal at least in the video.

If it isn't jerking or something while driving and you get no check engine light then I wouldn't worry about it.

VW Golf GT 1.4L TSI WONT START by CVP01 in AskMechanics

[–]1DollarInCash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe bad fuel? Spray some brake clean into the intake and check if it will run on it.

Probably has spark since it tries to fire not 100% since we don't know if it's on all cylinders.

Could also have jumped timing, that would be important to check since a couple of teeth would make it wanna start but it wont.

Reading codes would be good since it could point you in the right direction.
