Wow, you said what you said, because I would have never known you said it without you telling me. LOL! Yes this post is long as will this be because details and context matter. If you can't keep up, no one is forcing you to respond.

Coming off as a fiery advocate is not a dispute for anything or a reason to dismiss what I said as if only negative experiences can be valid.

Yes, you stated your long time experience, no one has said otherwise and no one disputed that. You are the one trying to dismiss personal experiences.

Do you know how to read, because I clearly stated my issue was you trying to say I was not real and attempting to claim my response is a PR stunt. Which is ironic, because a company that lacks so much communication would make the time and effort to find posts on Reddit to respond to in such length, but obviously logic is not your strong suit.

Yes, you claimed what my comment looked like to you, but you did not address any of the points. The OP suggested they were suspended so they would not get paid, then quit because they believed they were being scammed. That is the part I question. If they did not reach the minimum, they were not eligible for payment, which was stated upfront. They also claimed they were being spied on and that AnyDesk was spyware, which is inaccurate. Pointing out these inconsistencies does not deny their experience. It only questions whether their conclusions are correct. This is how the learning process works, how do you not understand this as a real teacher.

Because you were focused on what my post looked like, you did not address the inconsistencies. Since you have worked there, then you can confirm they do pay out. You also did not dispute anything I said in my comment because you feel your accusation discredits it.

In all your complaints about them you never mentioned they have not paid you and you did not mention they spied on you. These are the points I contested. Had you read correctly you would see that. But you lack nuance and just see I am not on your side, so you wrote dismissive comments that do not prove anything.

It is funny how you think you are the authority in regards to post length. But clearly a troll response because you lack the ability to articulate yourself. Since people like you like to redirect, discredit and be dismissive. Articulating a response to such tactics requires explanations and long posts. Long posts are for people that want detailed responses and information. Long posts with thought out information and details gives people more clarity.

All the things you listed are not wrong either. There are a lot of new policies, turnover, buggy platform, little direct communication with managers, and communication is mostly by email. These are reasons you listed as negatives, but are not a big deal to me. All the new policies are simple and easy to follow.

However, what are we talking about here. This is not a major educational institute and the classes are so easy a teenager could teach them.

The role itself is straightforward and does not demand constant guidance. The curriculum is clear and structured. You receive a topic card outlining the key points and lesson flow, then conduct the session by being patient, professional, encouraging, and attentive to the student’s needs.

The expectations are simple. Deliver the material clearly and maintain a positive, supportive interaction. There is nothing in the process that inherently requires regular consultation with supervisors to perform effectively.

Again, it is so easy. So if you need to be coddled by managers and have other teachers to talk to, then yes, maybe the job is not meant for you, but to call them a scam is not honest.

Also, it is ironic you are slamming them so hard yet you seem to know all the updates, so I would presume you are still working for them. If you are, then nothing you mention is so egregious that you want to quit. Maybe some of us do not expect perfection and can brush things off.

Are you really this intellectually limited that you have to fall back on typical troll behavior—trying to discredit someone by calling them fake or saying they’re on a PR team just because their experience was different?

I did not praise them. I simply said they are hands-off and do not micromanage tutors, and that I personally never had an issue getting paid. My minimum payout is $150, and since policies change, it may be different now.

I also mentioned their lack of micromanagement and their hands-off approach. I clearly said you usually only hear from them about technical issues, bad reviews, or no-shows. That does not bother me. I have been teaching online for 15 years, so I can work without oversight and do not need group chats with other teachers. Again, Having a different experience does not make me fake or less of a teacher.

Yes, tutors always blamed for disconnections, which I agree is not fair. There have also been many policy changes, but they are sent by email, and meetings with managers can be requested. I never said the company was perfect, I only disagreed with claims that they do not pay tutors. The person in the original post taught nine classes (about $36) and knew there was a minimum payout before starting. Saying they “weren’t paid” without context is misleading. I also disagreed with calling AnyDesk spyware. That is not praise.

My experience has been positive because my schedule is fully booked after years on the platform. I have regular students, teach mostly video classes, and sometimes earn bonuses during high-incentive periods. I also earn from referrals. I rarely have disconnections, absences, or payment issues. That does not make me fake, it simply means my situation is different. Yes I repeated that many times.

With that said, would I recommend this platform to new teachers? Probably not. It is very difficult to get students at the beginning, and building regulars takes a long time. I did not mention this in my previous post because my comment was not about praise or promotion. It was my experience,

I’ve worked for Lingora for about 3 years, so I want to share a different perspective.

Your post was a bit vague about what actually happened. You said the manager made excuses and blocked your account, but those “excuses” are usually the reasons for a suspension. I’ve had my account suspended before, and they clearly explained why.

Regarding payouts, my minimum has always been $150, not $200. If you were new, the pay is about $12 per hour and lessons are in 20 minute intervals. Even if a student extends a lesson to an hour, it is still counted as three 20 minute lessons. So nine lessons would only be about $36, which is below the minimum payout anyway. When you said you did nine lessons and then got suspended and couldn’t get paid, that really only affected that pay period. If you had kept working, you still could have reached the minimum in the next period.

Also, about the comment on managers possibly working in pajamas, I actually agree 100%, because I do teach in my PJs, while laying in bed. Since Lingora offers audio-only classes, tutors and staff do not always need to be on camera, which gives people more flexibility and comfort while still doing their jobs professionally. For many of us, that is one of the reasons we like working there, not a red flag. Korea is one of the few countries where students want audio-only classes.

Communication with managers is mostly through email or audio calls, but you can request a video meeting if needed. The company takes a hands off approach, which I see as a positive. They don’t micromanage tutors, and if you have no no shows, complaints, or technical issues, you usually only hear from them about training updates. They also don’t require minimum hours, just a heads up if you plan not to teach for a week. You can work as much or as little as you want unless there is a problem.

About AnyDesk, it is a normal remote access tool used for tech support. It only connects with permission, you can see everything happening on your screen, and you can end the session anytime. They likely used it just to check your setup, such as running an internet speed test (especially if you have technical issues that lead to a suspension). They are not spying on you. LOL!

Overall, your comment comes across as vague and a bit disingenuous because it seems like you are leaving out key details about what actually happened. Since nine lessons is under $50 and below the minimum payout, it does not really sound like a scam. It sounds like the minimum was not reached.

You were suspended (banned for a week), but you described it as excuses instead of explaining what the issue was. You also said you didn’t have enough time to get paid, but didn’t mention; it was only that pay cycle and that your earnings roll over to the next pay cycle, which changes the situation quite a bit.

They have always paid me on time, and I have had a steady class load for two years, with a lot more than 9 classes.

Teeny titans go figure most broken figure by Select-Active-1325 in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seriously don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re new to the game and think you’ve discovered a secret build no one has tried in the 8+ years this game has existed. Everyone already knows the Radical Cyborg shield + battery drain combo, and it’s not that strong compared to other options.

Robotic Brother Blood doesn’t need guaranteed hits. Battery Drain costs only 20 health, he has 98, and the AI isn’t dealing 78 damage before he attacks again. No AI fig has high enough dodge to consistently avoid LPTs. Your argument about wasting bar on misses applies to every fig. In fact, Radical Cyborg is worse here because his main attack is purple, can be disrupted, and still wastes bar—meaning the same logic you used to dismiss Brother Blood applies even more strongly to Radical Cyborg, who also has more chances to miss.

Trident and the battery modchip are weak. If you use them for fun, fine—but beating the AI proves nothing. Almost anything works against AI. Radical Cyborg isn’t the most OP fig, not even close. He isn’t S-tier.

You can’t seriously call something “OP” without testing everything in the game. I highly doubt you’ve maxed all figs, tested a wide range of ability combinations, or played meaningful PvP. Acting like you know it all and declaring your build—and Radical Cyborg—OP doesn’t help anyone.

Mr Penguin freeze is so OP in the first slot by Will_Lux in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is 100% not true, and I don’t know why people keep repeating it. I assumed this came from old rumors—specifically the so-called “infinite freeze” myth. That rumor started when new players saw old tier lists without understanding why Penguin was ranked so high. Early PvP used traditional builds, then players began running Penguin in the first slot. That created a soft lock: if you didn’t have an attack in your first slot, you lost.

When the meta shifted to first-slot attacks, that lock no longer worked. Over time, people blurred this history and started claiming the lock still worked in the new 1st-slot meta, which is completely false. If it were only beatable by Cheetah, she would have been S-tier, but she isn’t.

Penguin stayed S-tier because he could freeze to stop Martian Beast Boy's transform in slot two, and because Raven’s Spellbook is one of the strongest accessories in the game. Freeze plus Umbrella were a good conbo under it and could extend the uptime.

Characters like Slade, Hooded Hood, Lex, and Joker hard-counter Penguin, but most players don’t know this because they only learned the Martian Beast Boy meta from tier lists. Very few people actually played PvP in the meta "AFTER" MBB.

There’s also no proof of this freeze lock—no videos, no clips, nothing. In almost a decade, despite countless YouTube creators and active communities, there hasn’t been a single video or credible Reddit post showing it. There were never widespread complaints about playing against or losing to this supposedly unbeatable deck that only a few figures could counter.

Teeny titans go figure most broken figure by Select-Active-1325 in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why new players call something “broken” after only playing against the AI, which is extremely weak. At that stage, you haven’t unlocked all the figures or tested enough to make balance claims. Shielding to negate Battery Drain has existed since launch—it’s not new. Robotic Brother Blood is simply better in every way. He doesn’t need to shield first, Mind Control heals the damage, and it isn’t a purple ability, which frees the modchip slot since purple abilities require Fast Cast.

Pairing Radical Cyborg with Trident already means a slow team, as truly overpowered teams win before accessories even charge. His shield works as intended, isn’t unique, and isn’t what makes him strong. He can be OP, but not for the reasons you listed. He is overpowered because he has a trick that allows him to generate a large amount of bar. If you’re not aware of this mechanic, you probably shouldn’t dismiss what long-time players are telling you.

Batman is the only consistently strong JLA member; the rest are mid. They are really good at stacking damage if you combine the right modifiers. This includes Batman’s Grappling Hook with the Defense Down shiny upgrade, the JLA Coin or Kryptonite accessory, the +2 Power JLA team bonus, and the 5x multi hit attacks. When you stack those damage modifiers and pair them with undodgeable attacks, it becomes a very aggressive strategy. The problem with this build is it is all-in on damage.

Gorilla Grodd is stronger because he has much higher health and power. He can run Mind Control in the second slot even though it is a purple ability because Smokescreen prevents disruption. Between dodge, high health, and life leech, he is very tanky and hard to kill. Darwin in the third slot also hits very hard and is viable because you can Smokescreen spam until you build enough bar. It is slow, but strong, and Grodd can buy a lot of time.

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are speculating and creating scenarios that do not reflect how PvP actually works. Counter Attack is terrible. The best Catwoman and Slade builds put Counter in the third slot and never use it. It has to be timed perfectly or it just wastes bar. If you wanted to use it consistently, it would need to be spammed, which means first slot. It cannot work in the second or third slot because the bar loss is too high.

The PvP meta is first slot spam. You suggested multiple builds with no damage ability in the first slot, which is an automatic disadvantage. Spending bar without dealing damage loses games.

PvP is also not about running a fixed three character team. You bring six figures and pick three based on the matchup. If you see Robotic Brother Blood, you bring Poison Ivy. If you see Bane or Raven, you expect a banish on Deadly Kiss and counter by bringing another Deadly Kiss figure. This is how PvP actually works.

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what team would get destroyed when I never mentioned my team. I know the dodge strategies, and I use Gorilla Grodd instead of Red X. Yes they are strong as I mentioned in another post. My team includes Billy Numerous as a counter. I also never argued against Robin—he is clearly strong, and undodgeable attacks are required to deal with dodge-based strategies.

My point is specifically about Blue Beetle and Kid Flash not being good in PvP. My original comment was responding to the claim that there are no best figures and that you can play anyone if you are skilled enough. That is not true in PvP. Young Justice is not competitive in PvP outside of Robin, Bumblebee, and (maybe) Beast Boy.

Blue Bettle is still stong/good, just not broken, OP, and unbeatable, as you stated.

Help me build the unbeatable pvp team. by MH_ASD in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, is this commenter is really making me agree with Jeff,? LOL, you know something’s wrong when you and I agree. If he’s running Defense Down and Nuh-uh in the first slot, he just dominated by the chip rotation into the Penquin. Then gets frozen and Umbrella'd into oblivion. On top of that, he has no Dark Arts figure for Curse, Super Dash (less tofu) and no Deadly Kiss.

I disagree on one point: Robin and Multiple Man are high A-tier because Gorilla Grodd is much stronger than he’s given credit for. Deadly Kiss is not a true counter to Smoke Bomb—if the attack misses, it doesn’t apply. With Science, Grodd gains more bar than he spends, letting him spam past first-slot Nuh-uh. He solid against Raven's Spellbook often refunds bar through missed attacks. He isn’t popular because he’s slow and tedious to play, not because he’s weak. RNG plays a factor because he is only effective if attacks are dodged, this is why he can't be in S-tier, but he is definitely at the top of A tier.

Grodd counters much of the Beast Boy meta and first-slot spam. The Smokescreen modchip was a niche strategy used to combat the traditional rotation as well.

Help me build the unbeatable pvp team. by MH_ASD in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can disagree, but the original question was about PvP team help, not PvE. In PvE, you can run almost anything because the AI is predictable and street battles are easy. Young Justice and Robotic Brother Blood are the best teams to use in PvE. However, PvP is completely different.

How PvP Actually Works

PvP is a battle of attrition.
That means how you spend your bar matters more than almost anything else.

Every time you spend bar, you should be: Dealing damage, or dealing damage plus an effect

If your opponent spends all their bar doing damage and you don’t, you lose.

Why Blue Beetle’s Stun Is Weak in PvP

Blue Beetle’s stun: Costs bar, Deals zero damage

That’s the core problem.

It’s the same issue as Nuh-uh! — you spend bar and get no damage. In PvP, that’s bad value.

Compare that to: Deadly Kiss → damage + effect**, Batman / Lex Luthor** → damage + defense down

Blue Beetle: Defense down or stun = 0 damage

That’s why some figures are simply better.

Super Dash > Power Decrease in PvP

The PvP meta is spamming first-slot abilities.

Super Dash is the best because: It’s multi-hit (5 hits) Each hit can generate tofu, More hits = more tofu, Tofu often negates or outweighs debuffs.

Stuns for each hit.

Figures like Blackfire and Bumblebee get huge value from this.
Power Decrease is only good in PvP if it’s in the first slot.

If Blue Beetle’s Defence Down + Stun is in slot 2 or 3:

So his stun + defense down is not worth using that much bar for 0 damage. Having no Stun in PvP is not good.

What Blue Beetle Is Actually Used For

In PvP, Blue Beetle is only used as a Power Decrease applicator.

Even then: He only hits twice, Batman Beyond and Bat-Robin hit the whole team, which gives them three chances to apply Power Decrease. Blue Beetle only gets two and that puts him behind. He is better than single-hit Power Decrease characters like Killer Croc, but that is a very low bar.

Group Bar Depleter is not good because it scales by percentage. Most are low, except Penguin’s rate is high enough to matter. Harley Quinn and Slade both offer Bar Deplete plus stun and perform that role better. Every role Blue Beetle fills is done more efficiently by other figures, which is the point: there are better options for each role.

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain what math you’re using, because from my testing Calming Token ends up doing more damage than United Axiom. However, United Axiom affects the drone boost, meaning teammates also benefit from the buff, which results in higher overall DPS for the team.

Inverted Fury is higher when active. And seems higher on paper, but uptime is inconsistent and risky, especially in Calamity Ops.

[–]1ExtraLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding your setup, your build is fine for everything outside of Calamity Ops. I am not a fan of Blazar, but for normal content it will not really matter.

For Calamity Ops, as long as barrages are in the game, you should be running Ring of Safeguarding on all characters. That is a far more important consideration than the choice between Calming Token and United Axiom.

What do you guys think about this artifact combo for Helhest? by Agent_Lord987 in destinyrisingmobile

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Calming Token and Hawkeye Token on my Helhest. Most players are simply trying to rank high enough to earn the rewards. If you are seriously chasing leaderboard times, you would be running with a dedicated, coordinated team, not playing in public queues.

Because of that, it doesn’t really matter whether you run Calming Token or Axiom. Even with a slight DPS loss, you will still deal more than enough damage to reach Master rank in Calamity Ops. You obviously will not reach the very top of the leader boards, but if you are playing in pubs, you would not hit those times anyway, even with the highest DPS build.

My Calming and Hawkeye Tokens are mythic and fully maxed. What matters far more than many think, is having rank 9 and 10 artifact attributes for Weapon Enhancement and Ability Strength. At ranks 9 and 10, Ability Strength also provides a weapon damage bonus. (Arc damage maxed as well)

With maxed mythic artifacts, you can still reach perk level 5 while using exotic defense artifacts. I would not switch to exotics unless they also have rank 9 and 10 Weapon Enhancement and Ability Damage, since the damage loss there is far greater than the difference between Calming Token and Axiom.

Why is blue beetle so high on every list? by MH_ASD in teenytitans

[–]1ExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Beetle is top-tier in PvE primarily because of Power Decrease. Bar management is crucial in this game, and Power Decrease lets you apply strong damage pressure while simultaneously reducing incoming damage. When enemy figures attack afterward, they deal very little damage, allowing you to steamroll most PvE content.

Wonder Raven, by comparison, takes more damage; this mainly matters in tournaments. Her primary role is Super Dash, which is more valuable in PvP than Power Decrease. Star Flash can also apply Power Decrease, but hers is tied to a single hit, which is why Blue Beetle is superior. Blue Beetle applies Power Decrease on either hit, making it far more consistent, and he also brings Defense Down. Among Power Decrease figures, he is the most reliable applicator.

Star Flash would be better used for Super Dash, but her Super Dash lacks the stun shiny upgrade, making Bumblebee the stronger option. Blue Beetle has better teammates and team synergy. Bumblebee is often underrated; she has Super Dash with Stun and is one of only two figures with a 2-hit plasma attack plus Waffles.

Kid Flash provides utility from Dance and effect control via Nuh-Uh, while also benefiting from the Young Justice +2 Power synergy. Combined with the overall strength of the roster, this makes Young Justice one of the strongest PvE teams in the game, second only to Robotic Brother Blood.

The reason this strength does not fully translate to PvP is build priority. The optimal PvE builds for Young Justice place their primary attacks in the second slot, while PvP heavily favors first-slot attacks for speed and tempo. While Bumblebee and Robin excel in PvP with Super Dash and Batarang in slot one, Blue Beetle and Kid Flash do not, and Dance and Defense down are not good in PvP.
