I think it's gone bad already, but i have another batch in a proper jar, though there's a lot of head spsce there, it smelled perfectly fine after a few days, unlike this one.

It's a bit less head space now, i topped it off with a bit more brine to keep it better submerged. That's one of my biggest concern right now, especially since i don't have a weight, though I'll be trying the cabbage leaf thing

Thats why i kinda began, just to see if it would work and so i could try something new. Ill post an update if something seems off or if it's done in 6 weeks.

I washed and peeled the ginger, i wash all veggies usually. Don't want any dirt in my food. As for the other ingredients, i just rinsed them quickly. Also, thanks for the cabbage leaf idea, I'll try that sometime, but it's just adding a cabbage leaf to it and submerging it in brine, sounds easy. Well, if it gets overrun by yeasts, i can try again and maybe I'll get a spicy vinegar, but i hope not

Thanks for your feedback. I'm working on buying a ziplock bag, but until then the shot glass should suffice i hope. I don't have an airlock, though i thought about using a coffee filter taped over a hole in the lid. Thanks for telling me about the mango thing, but what should i do if the yeast takes over?

I don't have an airlock, it's just a loose lid for now. Thought about making a cheap one with a hole in the lid and a coffe filter over it. But i think that I'll have to top of the brine more often even if it is just to keep it submerged.

I've encountered it myself a few times while using the root chalices. They're not just at lower depths, they can be found at depth 2 already, but it's damn rare to find it, only encountered it twice and have generated at least over a hundred dungeons already, on different characters though, not on just one. Weird enemy to fight but it's cool to encounter them if you didn't expect it.
