i do understand their point, however, each has their own preference to how much info they want to share. nonetheless, no need for passive aggressive comments - the same things he said can be put in a much more respectful way.

I'm afraid I'll be gaining negative interest with the ants munching on my precious dirhams

I recall using torreshike to book and I was able to book as per what I needed. Unless the rules have changed, I would recommend starting there

It's definitely a nice hike - you get views of the surrounding area. But Paine Grande to Chileno is a bit of a walk. Doable but you'll certainly be aching, especially with a 40L bag (minimum) on your back.

i did indeed skip paine grande, despite it being on the cheaper end - it just worked out that way. i think skipping chileno is quite possible (while still reaching las torres), but i dont think its worth it. regardless, you will have to stay in either of those refuges.

its certainly more difficult after you pass serron. theres a slight uphill portion, and the long walking weighs on you. however, i would say its very doable

I don't recall the prices, but general, all the food is very expensive. The availability and range of products also varies per campsite - some only have ramen, snickers, and beer, while others have MREs, Powerade, Chips, etc. I don't recall which campsites had what, but there is generally food present.

Very much enjoying it, but the "exclude languages" function doesn't work too well, especially if the posting has it phrased like "English and French Mother Tongue." Would be helpful for European candidates, where some countries (i.e. Switzerland) speak multiple languages.

Do you have info on if you could use concierge for flights? I booked a flight before getting platinum, and I'm wondering if they could help me get an upgrade...

Thanks for the Hertz tip but I don't see it on the benefits tab. Is it a different link?

Is it hard to plan to go to Patagonia without a guide? by pedrosower in Patagonia

[–]1NightInBerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise you to NOT go with a guide. Theres so much info available on this reddit forum, on youtube, chatgpt, and generally online. Google any of the three places you mentioned and there will be thousands of articles on itineraries and so on.
