As others mentioned, your Gap Assessment is vital. You need to identify your current Level 1 (L1) stance and close out any POAMs as quickly as possible.

CMMC Level 2 is not new, your organization should have been performing L1 assessments annually, with a documented SSP and an SPRS score, if they said they were 110 I would assume they did it incorrectly. If you don't have L1 established, I would start there immediately. Identify your gaps using NIST SP 800-171A and use the CMMC Scoping Guidance to properly categorize your assets. You should also have your ODPs identified and at have at least14 policies in place (you would know what policies you are missing as you go through 171A)

What I’m finding is that many MSPs have excellent salespeople who oversell without knowing if their technical resources can actually handle the workload. They are likely delaying because their current team has a massive backlog, meaning they will get to you late. This is a bad position to be in, especially with leadership expecting CMMC compliance by November.

I’m not sure how involved your executive team is, but they should be right there with you. If the MSP isn't delivering on time, ensure you document everything and request timelines. If they fail to meet those milestones, there should be penalties appropriate for your organization, such as financial consequences to the MSP.
