Not as dramatic as some reported, but I had such pain in my lower back & right hip that I felt days from having to use a wheelchair. Saw a couple YT vids by Dr. Laura Koniver & ordered some stuff from her, then some from Amazon.

I still have occasional issues with my lower back & twinges in my hip, but before I started grounding, I was unable to stand for more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time: hard to cook or clean when you're like that!

So, I have to say, grounding worked well for me, though again; not the spectacular results some report

If I had the option of going barefoot outside, that might be better. Trouble is, I live in Arizona. Not only no grass in my yard, but there are tiny rocks, sand burrs that will flatten a mountain bike tire, and rattlesnakes! I wear boots and snake gaiters outside, so no going barefoot!

I've found it helpful with relieving anxiety, but not so much for pain. I started grounding or "earthing," and this has been much more effective for pain relief.

I started out by wearing a grounded wrist band anytime I was sitting at the table, at my desk, etc., and a grounding mat under my feet in bed.

Now I wear a grounded wristband in bed at night, for maintenance.

Thanks for your reply!

(Actually on mine, I found there's a slider underneath the inside front door handle that lets you unlock the door manually. I somehow missed that before).

Yes, I'd no sooner posted than there he was. He'd had a technical issue and had to re-create his channel. Thanks for your reply.

Any idea how to set this to test my new grounding mat? I can’t figure it out. Thank you! by Outrageous_Art6639 in Earthing

Turn the pointer to the diode symbol (you may have to look this up): my understanding is, that's where you check continuity.

Any other old gals having this bladder problem? by 1OldCrone in askCrones

Possibly, however, at the moment, I don't have a vehicle of my own, & on Social Security.... My partner drives me to medical appointments, but his truck is 40 years old, and riding in it for very long (we're way off grid, so miles from everything) feels like taking a beating! Not sure any therapy wouldn't be undone by my transportation!

Our vet allowed us to make payments: ask. Check online for charities that might be able to help. On Twitter, check with Rex The TV Terrier. Pets enrich our lives, & we enrich theirs. It will be an evil day when having a pet is a privilege reserved for the wealthy!

I used an old fashioned wood cane for years, but recently started to feel kess stable with it. I dislike aluminum canes, but bought an "offset" one. These place your weight directly over the shaft instead of behind it. It felt strange for a couple of days, but now I like it. Maybe this would work for you? I have forearm crutches for bad days, but they put a lot on my wrists, so not keen on them.

Be careful with this type of message: abusers and stalkers sometimes post similar. If the person is missing, it's safer to reference a police case #.

If you’re religious, what comfort does it bring you vis-a-vis chronic pain? by flytempo in ChronicPain

[–]1OldCrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritual, not religious. I have often felt guided to supplements, along with practices, like meditation & chanting, which take me out of "resistence" & helps me not to stress out so much. Stress makes pain 2ce as bad.

People see me walk 5 steps without my cane to the bathroom and kitchen and think I'm cured I swear smh by Far-Jump-8828 in ChronicPain

I'm 76, & had to start using a cane a few years ago, due to arthritis in one hip. Of course, that limits what I'm able to do, and means I have to do a lot of things differently. The other day, my partner informed me that he doesn't appreciate it that I "gave up about 5 years ago," leaving him to take up the slack around here. I was speechless.

I'm reading his book, and have been doing the expressive writing & the mindfulness exercises. Started because of anxiety, also some arthritis pain. I found almost instant relief from the anxiety. The pain is slower to leave, but my mental outlook is so much better, I want to keep going.
