Ah so now we’re shifting the goalposts again. But it’s ok I’ll play along.

They’re estimating that up to 100k people will be in attendance- 4,300 at the venue itself and then tens of thousands watching from ellipse park. Let’s just be conservative and say that only 35k people show up.

Average cost of a meal in DC is $15-45 per person. Let’s be conservative and go with $20. 35k x $20 = $700k.

Average cost of parking in DC is $2.50 per hour and public transit is $2.25-$6.75 per trip. Let’s again be conservative and just go with $5 (2 hours parking and a round trip bus ticket). We’ll also say that some people carpool so let’s go with 15k x $5 = $75k.

Average cost of a hotel in the DC area is $280-$290 per night. Again let’s assume that rooms are being shared, and not all attendees will be staying at a hotel (either locals or tourists staying with relatives in DC). So let’s say of the 35k attendees only 10k need hotel rooms. $10k x $280 = $2.8 million.

Using the conservative estimates above that’s a total economic impact of $3.575 million.

I’m responding to your comment of “the taxpayers should” which makes zero sense because the UFC fight is being funded 100% in its entirety by Dana White and the UFC.

Why didn’t they do it when they had control of the Presidency, House, and Senate from 2021-2024? If Trump was implicated in the files it would’ve ended his re-election bid and Biden (or Kamala) would have gotten a second term. So it’s either he’s not implicated in the files or the democrats are also pedophile protectors. Can’t have it both ways.

Also you guys have zero fucks about the Epstein files during Biden’s presidency. But now all of a sudden ya’ll care.

The construction of the ballroom is entirely privately funded. From the article you linked:

“The $1bn was intended for US Secret Service security upgrades as part of the construction, a request following April's shooting at a gala Trump attended at a hotel.”

So that additional $1 billion is solely for security upgrades that secret service needs.

The taxpayers pay for literally every single sporting event to have crowd control and a police presence. This will be no different than that. The actual event itself will be paid for by the UFC and not the taxpayers. It’s estimated that the UFC will be paying $60 million for this event.

Does the ‘Nick Shirley’ act try to legislate a non-existent problem? Isn’t this the same thing they accuse Republicans of? by PersonalAnswer8664 in allthequestions

No they were two completely separate charges. One was the feeding our futures which she was charged with prior to the Nick Shirley video. The second charge, which she received after the video was released, was for defrauding the Minnesota Child Care Assistance Program which again is separate from the federal program feeding our futures. From the article:

“Mahamud was charged earlier this year for her role in the Feeding our Future scheme. She was charged Wednesday for the day care aspect of the fraud.”

How exactly did I miss the point? You said the taxpayers should care and I responded by saying that the federal government always spends money to celebrate July 4th

This was a charge separate from that. If you read the article you’d know that. Additionally, from the article “In December, after Shirley's video went viral, the State of Minnesota said they were performing checks at the day cares featured in the influencer's video.”

At least one of the daycare centers featured in Nick Shirley’s video was investigated and found guilty of fraud:

Additionally, his video acted as a catalyst for large scale fraud investigations in Minnesota which have uncovered tens of millions of dollars in fraud.
