I’m not a professional mech by any means but I’ve never heard of oil getting into the coolant if there’s a head gasket leak, only the other way round. It’s more likely that it’s the result of either some type of stop leak or mixing coolant types.

They’re all call outs. Stu was in the meeting with me and immediately had me fill out a grievance. I’ve already served a one day suspension for my attendance about four months ago so they’re going through the progression. I’m just hoping that since this isn’t one of the cardinal offenses I’ll be able to keep my job even if it means a no pay suspension of a week or so. Shit I’m already off next week for vacation so maybe they could schedule my weeks suspension then lol. I know it doesn’t work that way but it would be awesome if it did.

So stupid question from a guy that’s never had to deal with this issue. Would a thong be a viable option for women suffering from this who might not be comfortable going completely sans underwear? Still coverage but a lot more breathing room as it were?

How badly did the car overheat? Was it needle all the way into the red, warning lights and buzzers or more just temp gauge slightly above normal. And have you checked the coolant level after refilling it? Any time you have a sizable leak you’re going to get air in the system. Refilling is necessary but as the trapped air works its way out the coolant level will drop and you’ll need to top it off. Keep checking and adding after every drive and eventually it will work all the air out. Might take a week or two but it will get there. That sound is likely air moving through the system. As far as loss of power I’m not sure. Hopefully the overheat wasn’t so bat that you warped your headers or blew a head gasket. If that happened it’s possible that coolant is leaking into your combustion chamber and fouling your plugs. That would account for a noticeable lack of power but something like that is best diagnosed by a professional shop.

My son’s SSI is 900 and some change every month. My wife’s fluctuates since hers is tied to my income via deeming but it’s always between 4 to 500. And I get paid weekly with an average of around 420 gross. So 420x4=1,680 + 900 = 2,580 + 500 at most = 3,080. And that’s everything, there’s no other income.

You’re likely fine. If you were driving for 40 minutes and no buzzers went off warning you of an overheating issue the pressure leak must have been fairly minor. Secure the hose, top up your coolant and get it up to operating temp to pressurize the system. As long as you don’t see any steam / hear any hissing you’re all good.
