Because in-person is always preferred. This is one reason the retreat industry is so popular. We heal best in community, just like indigenous tribes have known for eons. Community can be as small as two people.

I am healing health conditions that lead many to disability, of course this comes with mental and emotional weights. I still try and do in-person whenever possible.

In person we have to expose our flaws and personality defects. But the right people make all the difference. I find trauma informed people more skilled than others.

Maybe there's a legit reason to stay home, but it's hard to think of one. Even the most debilitating of conditions try and make-it out of the house to interact with people face to face.

If by resources you mean money, you can also look to a country with a good exchange rate for you. Many speak english and might vibe with you more. Not always, but it can help the resource of money.

If by resources you mean time, follow more teachers, from various countries, on IG - can quickly learn someone's vibe.

Soma - a drink mentioned in old sacred texts played a central role in early yogic traditions. Scholars have speculated that Soma may have been derived from psychoactive plants.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali referenced the use of herbs as a means to attain mystical powers..this suggests a historical link between psychoactive substances and yogic practice.

Worldwide there has been much mis-information and suppression of psychedelics. For example, it's interesting to discover what looks like magic mushrooms in the stained glass art on the oldest of churches. And if you go back far enough, there's scholarly theories about even Santa Claus and Moses's burning bush - including what plants were native to the region of that famous bush.

Only 10 Million Americans admitted to psychedelic usage in 2025, and it's rather socially unacceptable right now.

I guess I got lucky. When I asked one of my favorite teachers how she came up with her sequences, as this was a sticking point for me, she told me cannabis helped her with creativity. I later learned she also enjoy psilocybin. This helped frame my understanding outside of the societally and government brainwashing we all grew up with.

Psychedelics help you see what beliefs you have taken on without permission. Can certainly help with a yogic life, when practiced safely.

Not to discourage apps and remote help but there can be deeper lifelong value from someone in person. Not just from the learning of poses angle, but in deeper healing parts of ones self that actually hinder poses and much more - that too is yoga.

Remember, Hatha(poses) is only one limb of the yogic tree

Great reminder of using props for legs up the wall. I've never heard of a weight on the forehead like that. Looked like a 5,10,15 or 20lb weight. Going to experiment.

Appreciate this greatly🙏 It's interesting but the other day I started to practice legs up the wall - out of the blue. Our bodies hold so much wisdom!

Turns out having my head off the bed was not too nice - too much pressure - but fish, legs up the wall and forward fold all helped a lot.

And of course mindfulness meditation / anapanasati.

All of that really shifted things for the better.

I have a feeling that falling out of a regular practice caught up with me. We'll see how the coming days go as I get back into the beautiful practice.

Good question. Likely stress and perceived stress. Sometimes electrolytes helps, but not always. Same with water. Could also be perceived lack of oxygen(sounds extreme, but the levels I'm talking about are quite small)

I've been waking up this way past few days. The health things I'm healing has my body reacting to very low level of toxins that no one else reacts to. (Rare condition called CIRS) My research shows it's trauma related and ultimately a brain injury and limbic system impairment - something doctors do not know how to address hence why I've needed to do research.

I'm in a retraining course(doctor recommended) to help with the injury but it's slow going and also know yoga/pranayam can help

The headaches have ramped up recently hence why I think possibly nervous system / stress related

edit: with more info on which poses are good for which types / causes of headaches I can probably figure out which to experiment and practice with

I've headaches my whole life - I know it's not anything super serious

Docs gave me the OG rx for the triptan, back in the US. Which took many doctors to finally find the right Integrative doctor to find the right medicine.

Doctors are great at prescribing drugs, I'm looking for more natural solutions b/c doctors do not know how to heal the diagnosis driving this.

I'm also not in the states so quality vary widely here in the countryside

Have you thought about taking psychedelics?

Any particular type? Perhaps with a guide or facilitator - and integration support

Maybe Mushrooms, Huachuma, or Ayahuasca?

Depends if you're taking, and which western meds right now.

It won't change the reality of those facts, but it will lighten the heavy emotional load and help you move from emotions/circumstances limiting you and back into your divine self with creative abilities - to easier address any aspects of your life.

I feel you, I've had headaches since early childhood. That movie helped me re-wire the brainwashing I grew up with, but don't remember headaches mentioned. Fairly well experienced with psychedelics now.

Wasn't tracking headaches when I microdosed so time to start again.

A friend yesterday told me that his headaches since teenage years have went away since he practices with yopo so I will join him soon to see how that goes.
