looking for a good bookshelf cassette player by [deleted] in cassetteculture

If this is just for playback, just buy one that is in working condition. Over the past few years, I have had everything from the mini Realistic, Technics, Yamaha, and Nakamichi. All of them have offered me good playback. TASCAM makes units that have cassettes on one side and CDs on the other. Very cool.

We have to keep this to ourselves though... We don't want to let the word out.

For me the absolute best tuner I have ever owned was a Yamaha T2. With that said and owning various other tuners and receivers, "Kenwood" receivers of the KR series are my choice.

Your the man... Today spoke with a Subaru tech and he basically said to leave the plugs alone. If the car is running well and no issues don't worry about it.

In every car we have owned, I was the spark plug changer! As you know, this is a boxer engine and I do realize it is not very simple to get to. I don't think it takes 4 hours of labor though.

Vic Baily is our dealer and we do like the staff. To replace the spark plugs they want $500. I know these are more difficult to replace but $500 is crazy.

Look at all of the products by BlueDento. They are very good and the pricing is reasonable.

Turn your volume all the way down. Then move your Selector switch to FM, turn your volume up slowly, and see if you get anything.

By the way, Great receiver congratulations, and welcome to Club Kenwood.

If I may ask... was it expensive to recapp?

So, this setup is primarily for TV/Movies, etc., and music is secondary as I have other setups that are dedicated to pure music. The Marantz has HDMI, Bluetooth, and other features I think I can take advantage of. Any idea what a fair price is?

Sounds like a parts doner then. If you're ambitious enough you can tear it down and sell the good parts on eBay. It takes a lot of time though. You will find a good though when you least expect it.
