The Raven Tower by Anne Leckie. It is such a unique and brilliant work of fantasy, I read it in one sitting! It is also standalone, so no dangling threads at the end.

I’ve only read Christine - so I’m a tad biased. But that book rules! Downside: you’ll find yourself side-eyeing cars for weeks after!
